So after a run through of the discog, I think my ranking would look something like this: There is Nothing Left to Lose Foo Fighters The Color and the Shape In Your Honor Concrete & Gold Sonic Highways Wasting Light Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace One By One Still think the singles are One any One are fire but the rest of the album is pretty easily their weakest. Could switch with ESPG on the right day. Also think In Your Honor and Sonic Highways are very underrated. Nothing touches the first three records though
damn that's a surprising spot for Wasting Light. love to see C&G higher than the bottom tho cos that album lowkey goes
Wasting Light is solid, there's just a few tracks I'm not crazy about (like most Foo albums). It's honestly pretty interchangable with C&G and Sonic Highways on most days, all middle tier albums to me
Lol in my defense...I don't love "Dear Rosemary" and couldn't tell you what "Back and Forth" or "A Matter of Time" sound like. The good songs on Wasting Light are great but the ratio of killer to filler is about the same as Sonic Highways and C&G and I just really appreciate those records trying something different and mostly succeeding
I might have to rewatch the Sonic Highways series, I remember really really enjoying it when it was airing I actually really like Dave as a documentary director in general
3 out of 9 songs as singles idk how I feel about that and is that tomorrow at midnight or tonight at midnight???
Eh, the strings are cool but the lyrics are so generic on this one. Can't get a vibe for this album yet. Love "No Son of Mine" but only kinda like "Shame Shame."
Can't count on the Foos anymore to release the giant singles they always had on every album, but I'm sure the album will still be good overall. Wish this had a "The Pretender" type song to lead it off but oh well.
I've heard Shame, Shame a ton on alt radio, but I agree they haven't really stormed out of the gate since Rope
