Been working my way through their discog. Still think One By One is almost exclusively filler outside of the singles ("Low" is SUCH a banger), but I was SHOCKED at how well In Your Honor holds up. Maybe I'm biased because I think it was my first Foos album, but I've always loved that acoustic disc, and I think there are only two real clunkers ("The Last Song" and "Cold Day in the Sun"). Honestly stronger than a lot of double albums by bands I like.
i just went through them about a month ago. one by one is much better than people (and the band) give it credit. tcats > s/t > wasting light > tinltl > one by one > espg > iyh > c&g > sonic highways
i think i had them swapped previously but going back to it there was some cool weird shit on that album like dirty water, arrows, sunday rain and the title track
I’ll probably run through concrete soon (along with the rest of the disco again as a refresher before reviewing it)
Yeah I can back this ranking. Might put IYH slightly higher but other than that it’s basically the same as mine.
I just watched Back and Forth and it's hilarious that when they made Wasting Light, Dave was like "We have to go back to basics. That's why we're making this record in my ($23 million) garage."
This is where I stand too after doing a discog run through over the last few weeks. I enjoyed One By One way more than I remember hearing it when it came out. In your honor has some great highlights but it felt like a bit of a slog this listen through between one by one and espg
