IMO, just an extremely irresponsible piece of journalism from a writer and a publication that should know way, way better. Honestly baffled this got published.
Yeah this really seems like it was very irresponsible. I think my comments from yesterday were giving a bit of the benefit of the doubt to the reporter by assuming that Rolling Stone would still have at least some editorial standards and not stoop to the level of tabloids. Clearly I shouldn’t have assumed that…
see this shit right here is what i was worried about and what really pisses me off. Rolling Stone has the name and weight of some quality journalism behind it and i was hopeful that some standards would be in place for a piece like this but clearly not. i thought it odd that people of Chad Smith and Matt Cameron's stature would sign off on something basically tearing down the foo's under the guise of a tribute to taylor. Fuck the writer of this piece, this is super shitty.
fuck the writer and fuck rolling stone. both of their credible sources are basically redacting what they put out since it was all taken out of context to fit the writer's narrative. so gross.
A husband, father, brother, son, friend, drummer, icon, and all around “good guy” from what people have said is gone. There is always pressure on a person like Taylor (and sooo many of us) to be all things to all people. If he wanted to slow down to spend ever moment at home with his family, I’d get it. If he wants to play shows 365 days a year with his band/friends. Life can be hard to balance and his health may have been caught up in trying to be everything. Multiple things can be true. People are still in shock and need time and probably space to grieve.
Amazes me that Rolling Stone would burn bridges with three of the last remaining huge rock bands for a story that did not need to happen.
'with a special appearance by Dave Chappelle' come on. all the good will in the world and you platform a bigot like him? come on.
Yeah... this isn’t really someone I’d expected to see on the lineup given his current issues. Surely FF management etc. would have to be aware of it, or I suspect they’re about to hear about it!
