It's interesting how varied the reactions are to this album. In my opinion, it's a very consistent album and already up there with my favorite Foo records. That might be due to it reminding me a lot of ESP&G at times, and that's one of my favorite albums.
“Soldier" highlights 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood, a new compilation album benefitting the sexual health care nonprofit organization.
Probably just outside the top five for me. 1. There Is Nothing Left To Lose 2. The Colour and the Shape 3. Foo Fighters 4. Wasting Light 5. One By One 6. Concrete and Gold 7. In Your Honor 8. Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace 9. Sonic Highways
Happy Ever After was a very good song, really liked Arrows as well. Last two albums have been solid if unspectacular. I'd love to see them make a maturer version of There Is Nothing Left to Lose.
Listened to this again this week to see if I’d warmed up on it. Still the worst Foo Fighters record for me.
One By One just hasn’t aged well for me. Those first few tracks are undeniably great though. Echoes on the other hand still holds up in my opinion.
'Play' is up on streaming now for any one interested. I'm only a couple minutes in and its pretty cool so far.
I'm not sure the stuff about the kids learning instruments connected with what was basically him showing off as well as he intended but I didn't mind lol. Really cool
Yeah I think the point was him being inspired to push himself to try something new. The only real connection (besides the fact that his daughters go there) was the one kid who said he always started playing the song from the beginning whenever he screwed something up.
How's C&G holding up for every one? I almost never go back to it for some reason. I think I even prefer Sonic Highways. Not that C&G is bad at all, it just doesn't grab me for whatever reason.
