really glad i got tickets to Sea Hear Now in september, gonna be great to see these guys.

 

Yeah, I think there's a pretty good chance this will be their best album since the 1990s.

 

The only way this one will top Wasting Light for me is if it's more consistent and It's shaping up to be that way.

 

it would be pretty close to impossible for them to release something on the tier of the first two to me, but the tier of TINLTL, OBO and WL are attainable

 

I really enjoy Wasting Light, but I have basically zero emotional connection to that album. Feel like that will be the X-factor for this one.

Yeah, idk, Wasting Light has great stuff but I don't return to it much. Feel like it's front-loaded.

This will easily be better than One By One.

For me, it was the time and place where I was in life. Bought the album at the base exchange (store) in Afghanistan, and that album just got me through a hell of a tough time in my life. It's seared in my brain in a way their other albums aren't, despite it's flaws.

Side note: I ended up becoming infatuated with Foo Fighters on deployment, to the extent that I found one of the only "white line" internet connections on the whole base (term used for unrestricted connection) and proceeded to use my jailbroken iPhone 4 with a torrent app to download all of their albums, then waited till I was back on my Macbook to transfer the files to iTunes and get them on my iPhone properly. Man, what a hassle that used to be LOL.

 

Yes! I've been a fan of this band since 2003 or so, and I'm quite familiar with their older work. I was more of a singles fan until Wasting Light though. Need to go back through and do a discography run. I do recognize the "classic" status of some of their albums, just had more of an attachment to Wasting Light.

One By One has to be one of the gnarliest quality drops ever after track 4

One By One really falls off a cliff after the start. And I'm not even that crazy about the start of the album. Easily my least favorite from them

 

Losing my mind. "Disenchanted Lullaby", "Tired Of You", "Burn Away", and especially "Come Back" are great songs, and that's just what I remember offhand.

Especially disappointed in the write off of "Come Back".

 

If I had to choose a least favorite, it'd probably be Concrete And Gold.

White Limo straight up rips. Love the music video too. Classic Foo video And I love that Lemmy is in it.

Come Back is great but in general that second half is a wasteland lol. I'd still take that album over Echoes and Medicine though

also haven't heard the third single yet, I'm a bit raw emotionally to be spinning it yet but I'm glad my feeling this album was gonna be special seems to be bang on
