This is very good so far.

 

Liking this, will probably need some time to grow on me like Skinty Fia did. "Desire" is awesome though, should've been the third single imo. I like that this borders on grunge-pop at times

"In the Modern World" is my least favorite version of this band, though

 

This thing really breezes by. "Horseness is the Whatness" is also beautiful. The singles are just so good. Will be revisiting this one!

 

Death Kink absolutely goes off, really hope they play that live.

While I do wish they'd do an album of all bangers like the first album this album does the slower stuff way better than the last few

 

Big “Sculptures of Anything Goes” vibes off the opener.

 

AOTY contender for me. No misses.

As someone struggling through severe depression, Sundowner is one of the most devastating things I've heard in ages. Fucking hell.

 

never really listened to this band. here’s the thing is cool

 

My diseased brain can’t not hear “it’s Maura Tierney keeping me from me” at the end of the second verse of Starburster

 

"I wanna move like a new salamander" is the lyric of the year

wish there were a few more Starburster-ish tracks on here but it's a fun and interesting listen

 

didn't listen to any of the singles to this and just went in. holy fuck Starburster!!

 

yeah loving this so far, almost getting a s/t-era Blur vibe from stuff like Bug. dreamy album

 

wow no-one warned me the t/t is absolutely perfect? sounds like I Still Remember by Bloc Party with even more nostalgia

Surprised this thread isn't longer! New album is great, and I'm always surprised by just how massive they are.

yeah it's early days but this may end up my favourite of the year, just such a beautiful album. didn't know they had this in them

also Conor's singing lead on Sundowner?? wow he has a nice voice

 

I always wanted to love this band, and dug a few songs here and there, but in general they just never excited me over the course of a full album. This album blew me away though. One of my 2-3 favorites of the year so far

 

I'm very curious to know which album is the outlier for you

 

Haha I posted that just before Romance came out, so I hadn't heard it yet! I only had a chance to listen to this a couple times in the background so far, but definitely initial thoughts are it's at least as good as the others. The singles are all massive

 

This album really does it for me. Everything sounds amazing.
