Legit shocked at how little this band is talked about on this site. One of my favorite bands and objectively one of the better and tighter live bands in existence.
I can't remember where I read it, but sounds like Yannis is going to be playing bass on the new record and then they will have touring bassists. Walter had been with them since the beginning so fingers crossed it's not too much of a loss.
Interesting, first time I'm hearing this. Walter was great, so I'm curious to see how big of an impact it will have on their sound as a whole.
Sooo...now that there's a Foals thread can we rank the albums? (Seeing Foals Live >) Total Life Forever > Holy Fire > Antidotes > What Went Down
I'll have to re-visit their albums again, but I'm still a biggest fan of their style during Antidotes. Probably... Antidotes > Holy Fire > Total Life Forever > What Went Down (I honestly dont remember this album)
Most people don't know this because it's not on Spotify and was pressed on limited vinyl, but Live at The Royal Albert Hall fucking rules. One of the best-sounding records I own. Spanish Sahara and Inhaler are two of the best live songs I've seen from pretty much any band.
I am curious if Walter played on these 2 albums as they obviously wrote some of the music while he was still in the band, but maybe Yannis ended up playing the bass anyway. very excited for these are I find they have yet to release a poor album, Ranking albums? Total Life Forever What Went Down Antidotes Holy Fire but other than TLF, I find I enjoy those other 3 pretty equally, but for different reasons.
Holy Fire Total Life Forever Antidotes What Went Down For some reason, only a few tracks from WWD really stuck out to me.
Ranking is hard for me, I attach some of the records to specific points and in my life which sways things. WWD came out after I had gotten seriously into the band, not to mention serious with my girlfriend, whose favourite band is Foals. I'll go with: Holy Fire What Went Down Total Life Forever Antidotes They don't have a bad record.
Holy Fire is the only one I've never really fully clicked with. The other three are incredible. What Went Down is extremely underrated in this thread. Huge songs everywhere on it. I'd still go TLF > Antidotes > WWD though.

So I’ve actually just been giving Foals more listens over the past few days since the album announcement. I’d always been meaning to get more into them since I liked the songs I know, but for some reason never did. I feel like these guys have something that makes them stand out from bands like Two Door Cinema Club and Bloc Party that they’re often compared to... I don’t know if it’s greater atmosphere or just more interesting songwriting. In any case, I’m glad I’m finally getting into them.
