June 17th Life Is Yours Wake Me Up 2am 2001 (summer sky) Flutter Looking High Under the Radar Crest of the Wave The Sound Wild Green
ENSWBL1 is uniformly excellent but Part 2 seems to be the consensus for their career worst, which I agree with. Hoping this one gets them back on the right track.
I agree. I was excited when they announced it because it would feature the heavier songs, but it wasn't that good really. Part one on the other hand might be one of their best.
This drops Friday! I’ve enjoyed all the singles so far, I’m very excited. Also, randomly checked the song credits and apparently A.K. Paul (Jai Paul’s brother) is a co-producer on this?? That’s really cool, those guys are so reclusive usually lol. Feel like that’s the biggest production job either of them have done in a while lol, I’m curious how that came about.
Pretty enjoyable album overall, definitely more straightfoward than usual but that's kinda the point this time around from what I can tell
I write this while I happen to be wearing a Foals shirt today. Somehow didn’t realize so many songs were out and this releases Friday. Haven’t listened to any songs yet so guess I’ll just wait for it all.
Loving Life Is Yours. It’s definitely the most pop material they’ve ever put out, but I think they did a great job with this sound. Really fun, catchy set of songs.
they weren't kidding when they said this would be a dance album. (also their og synth player left before their most synth heavy album lol)
I don't know how off the mark I am but so far... this reminds me of Mutemath's latter albums and makes me miss them, in a good way.
I had a feeling based on the singles but this one isn't really clicking for me sadly. It feels a little...sterile? I think the dynamism of their records has always been such a draw for me: you'll be dancing to In Degrees then screaming to Syrups, shaking to your ass to My Number then contemplative to Stepson, etc. This kind of just feels like one long indietronica jam without a lot of variance in tone or mood. There's definitely some highlights (The Sound) but I would probably put this near the bottom of the discography after a few initial spins. That being said, their songs are always a different animal live and I'm excited to see how they come to life and change in that environment.
After the disappointment of Part 2 and not really caring for Wake Me Up I came into this with zero expectations. I'm glad to say Foals are back! Really been enjoying this
