Flume - Hi This Is Flume (Mixtape) Album

Searched and found that there doesn't seem to be a thread for this (now) Grammy nominated mixtape...

I literally just found out about the nomination, don't know how I missed it before, but I'm stoked for it... It has held up as one of my favorite releases of the year, it's such a work of art. And the visualizer? Amazing... Super dope to see it get this level of recognition, it deserves it.

 

I honestly am not sure why I haven’t listened to it more. I did a couple times and thought it was great. I’m gonna have to commit some time to it soon here

 

I go through short spurts where I seem to forget that it exists and then, poof, I remember and start listening to it again lol.

It's always a trip. So good.

I’m going to try to carve some time out to have a really focused listen this weekend

 

Been going back to Flume's 2016 album "Skin" pretty heavily lately, which, I wasn't aware that it won a Grammy until the other day... really digging that album though. A bit more of an instantly digestible sound (over the mixtape) for sure, but Flume's unique, more artistic and dynamic, off-beat style is still very much present.

Some really "big" sounding songs... and with his newer single "Rushing Back (feat. Vera Blue)" feeling very much in the same vein, I'm excited to hear what's next.

 

This has to be my favorite track of his... it’s just insane.
