Thanks for taking the time! Hope you enjoyed the rest of it, too! I play keys and split vocals with Richie.
I did enjoy it! Lots of great guitar tones/effects and the vocal melodies fit the music really well. Good luck on this cycle!
Love listening to this when I'm stoned. And yeah, Bloodshade is incredible, stunning track. I love the chorus.
Lmao I literally just sent Topshelf an email that ended with "In the words of the almighty Sleep, 'If you smoke, do so before listening to this." really crazy but awesome that "bloodshade" seems to be a standout, helps us shape which direction we might take next
I write for Casey's site sometimes, earbudsin.com I haven't submitted anything in a couple of weeks due to a combination of work overload, school work overload, and the swath of sexual assault/misconduct/etc allegations reeeeeally making it hard to write about and connect with stuff without a layer of anxiety. But I like this album and I'd like it to do well, even if it's just my dumb opinions maybe helping out Wouldn't rly call myself a reviewer as much as a writer of long tweet threads that aren't on Twitter lol
I feel this 100%. I've been holding back on a Kindling review even though they have a female vocalist and seem to be very outspoken/progressive. Plus I've been taking on a ton of extra hours at work. But hey, I'm really glad you enjoy the album and appreciate you taking the time to listen/chat, let alone write some long faux-tweets about it lol. And if you need access to anything -- a download, press kit, lyrics -- or just have any other questions, I'd be happy to help! Really appreciate the offer.
Might hit you up for lyrics, can't remember if my copy from Bandcamp has them since I don't think I actively checked
i'll review it "the mastering job on this thing is just...wow. so fresh. so warm. so big. amazing job by the mastering engineer here"
It's more common than you'd think/hope. We just got an email back from a site called Divide and Conquer (who reached out to us first about submitting our music) saying their staff voted and agreed to review our album. Good news, right? Turns out they'll post a score and reccommend our album during their weekly roundup for free, or for $25 they'll have a staff writer write an actual five-paragraph review. I swore I wouldn't give into it -- I never requested any kind of payment for the reviews and interviews I did while running my own site that no one had heard of -- but we've had some reviews fall through, so we might just pay the $25. It's a bummer.
