Buckingham Nicks turned 50 this week. Both Lindsey and Stevie posted about on it Instagram with the exact same caption. Hopefully that is a positive sign that they’ve worked things out.
Stevie absolutely killed it at Hyde Park and Manchester. Have to say the Hyde Park gig was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. The atmosphere was electric, given she hadn't played the UK since the Tom Petty gig and it was Christine's birthday.
I was watching The Dance again recently and that was absolutely their peak as a live act. Older stuff never felt quite as fully-realized as they were in that performance.
If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend the Mirage live video as there’s some pretty epic performances on there as well.
Not the greatest video quality but this is pretty much the whole thing. You can tell Lindsey and Stevie were not getting on very well at this point. The Chain is pretty much screamed at one another, but it does have that raw feeling across the board with what I can only assume was a large amount of cocaine. Sisters Of The Moon is another highlight.
It came up earlier and I still think Lindsey is one of the most underrated guitarists and overall producers of our time.
Fleetwood Mac will release a live album from the legendary Mirage tour on September 20th (that I weirdly referenced above).
I'll be open-minded when I listen but that track has my usual problems with their live stuff pre-The Dance: For a band that made some of the most exquisite-sounding studio recordings of all time, they tended to sound a little unpolished and amateurish live, imo
I actually think the opposite haha. Whilst I do think that Don't Stop live version isn't the strongest first release, I get why they've gone with it as it is brand new compared to what they included on the deluxe Mirage. They have some classic moments across the late 70s / early 80s live in my opinion. There's no denying that this is the defacto version of The Chain live.
Yeah, performing her new song The Lighthouse, but there seems to be some rumours of a reunion of sorts due to some social media activity. I doubt it though.
