I like this a lot. My only thoughts so far really are that the Mulatu Astatke sample makes me so happy, that I'm definitely not disappointed with this record, and that the deck is probably unfairly stacked in favor of Helplessness Blues for me and against any new record they could put out no matter how wonderful, just because of how much HB has meant to me and what it has come to represent in the last six years of my life.

So great that they're back though. Hope I can snag a Chicago ticket once I have the spare income to do so.

Nice!! What is that, 12 hrs Philly->STL? I'll be crossing your path near Indianapolis going home to Louisville this weekend haha. My drives only 4-5 hrs tho

 

Almost 15 its a god damn journey. 4-5 hour drives are like nothing to me now haha

This was the perfect album to listen to driving through the mountains in Pennsylvania while it was raining

 

This makes me really, really excited to listen.

 

Agreed, I was definitely stoned as hell on a leisurely night time bike ride and it was cold and cloudy and pretty much perfect. Living in AZ I don't think I'm gonna have a night like that again for a few months so I'm glad that worked out the way it did

 

This is just so unexplainably beautiful. Like I haven't began at all to unpack it because I just become hypnotized.
