I really liked Crashing. Definitely not as good as Fleabag but it’s good. Less heartbreaking, more fun ensemble/romcom.
Watched both seasons over the past few days and loved it. Such great characters, real emotional beats and genuinely hilarious too, which I wasn't sure it would be because a lot of "comedies" that win Emmys have like no laughs Fully on the Phoebe Waller-Bridge bandwagon now, she killed it on SNL too which before this was the most exposure I'd ever had to her
Finally get to see the live show at the fathom event tonight! I’ll always kick myself for not trying to go when I was in NYC so this will help a bit.
Oh wow I would have told you that it was totally safe to go! The live show only covers the first season since it predated everything. You do need to get on that though! It was definitely great but it was way more brutal than the show. There was one major change that I was not prepared for and hurt to listen to. It was also easier to tell just how awful she is because there were way more dark or upsetting jokes. The way she embodied the characters just with her facial expressions was amazing, and there were a few jokes that I was really sad got cut from the series because they really cracked me up. I’m definitely happy I went but it didn’t overtake the show for me, just gave a lot more context. Seeing it live for real would have been even harder in some places and better in others I’m sure.
Wish I'd have known, but it's all good. I'm sure it will pop up somewhere again that I'll eventually be able to see it. Didn't want to risk spoiling S2 though since everyone is head over heels for it. I'll get to it soon though.
I really hope she changes her mind and makes S3 in the next few years, but I'm not mad if that's how the series ends.
Excited for whatever she does next with that Amazon deal. Went to her IMDB to see if she has anything concrete in the works, and apparently she has a writing credit on the new James Bond movie? Surprising, but cool.
Yeah, going in I knew that she only wanted to make two seasons so I was really thinking the ending would be more definitive but it easily could just set up another season
To be fair, she said she was done after the first season and still made a second. I’m happy with the ending but I’m not gona be mad if she has an inspired idea for a third season/special a few years down the line
