Ryan Gosling, Damien Chazelle’s Neil Armstrong Biopic Gets Awards Season Release Date

Director Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) reunites with star Ryan Gosling to bring astronaut Neil Armstrong's life story to the screen next year, with a screenplay by Spotlight's Josh Singer.

"The film is based on James Hansen’s biography First Man: The Life Of Neil A. Armstrong and tells the story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong during the years 1961-1969. A first-person account, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost — on Armstrong and on America — of one of the most dangerous space missions in history. Armstrong died in 2012 at age 82."

Tap dancing on the moon baby! I hope Neil Armstrong meets the Star Wars Cantina Band and teaches them about jizz

There's no way this movie doesn't include a scene where Armstrong tries to explain to his wife why jazz is the purest form of musical artistic expression, right?

I hope history remembers Glen Powell's John Glenn performance from last year in spite of this movie.

Also, John Glenn was very sexist. Wonder if Chazelle is interested in how outspoken he was against and detrimental he was to women astronauts.

I don't think Claire Foy and Paolo Schreiber were mentioned before but they're in this too
