hot take: the two best pop-punk(ish) albums of the decade are [your favorite The Wonder Years album] and Oh, Common Life
Can't believe this is the same band that wrote All I Have To Offer such amazing growth in that general sound writing and instrumentation. Assuming that are coming back with an LP this shot up to #1 most anticipated easily. I first saw their tweet and my first thought was "oh fireworks is posting about another band they want to support?"
I'm so excited at the thought of a full record that sounds like this. I went to check the Triple Crown store just in case they had anything new but it's currently down for maintenance. Probably nothing.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop the single on Spotify tomorrow along with some album news. I think they would want to capitalize on the hype from today.
Finally getting around to listening to the new songs (was following along with the thread all day, but wasn't able to listen). This is exactly where I would have wanted them to go after OCL. Love it!
This is a more interesting song than they’ve ever done probably, some of the aspects are kind of sloppy but love some good experimentation from a band that always played it real safe.
Don’t see anything on streaming or anything new on the website, was hoping for some midnight info haha
Gospel holds the top spot for me due to the fact that it was the soundtrack of some of the most cathartic moments of my life. OCL is better as an album but Gospel has a special place in my heart
As far as pop punk albums go, I put Gospel up there next to Blink’s Dude Ranch. Gospel set the bar for me and any other albums in the genre since it was released. Some came close, but never got there the way Gospel did for me. Which is crazy because OCL is amazing lol.
The only pop-punk albums even close to Gospel for me are Listen and Forgive and The Greatest Generation.
