Probably best you didn’t for the fact the band got to do everything when they wanted to without the word getting out before they were ready.
If there was any doubt left, Dave confirmed on Instagram that this is a new Fireworks song called “Demitasse.” So it’s not a side project.
I've seen Kyle (bass), Chris (guitar), and Adam (keyboards) all post something on their socials. I wonder who did drums, and if Brett was involved. EDIT: Brett and Teddy have posted, so I assume that's the lineup. Awesome.
It reminds me so so so much of the "Oh Common Life" title track. Feels like these guys along with The Swellers really outgrew their genre in the best way possible.
Just saw that Brett posted it an hour ago or so on IG. Absolutely excited and hoping it's not a one-off Detroit area holiday show.
I haven't had a chance to hear the song yet but the OCL title track is my favourite by them so this is hype.
Teddy is a full time Tigers Jaw member now so seems odd that he's in the lineup especially if they're both releasing new records next year
i have no more tears of joy left to cry after the last ten days. this is the best timeline on top of the worst timeline.
on the way, i passed the room where we sat with the window view behind you that i pretended to be staring through when i was really looking at you
Yeah, I get it. But those two bands especially in the upsides era... I could see it happening regardless of overhauling their sound. They're still all super close.
Soupy is the biggest champion of Fireworks though. Him and Ian Cohen are the two "biggest" names I've seen share the comeback news. Didn't he come into the forums to talk about OCL?
This is...different. I like it but can't see myself listening to it repeatedly. Definitely feels like Oh, Common Life (The song) but aged for 5 years
