man this is so good. just listened for the first time, dont know what has or hasnt been discussed so far but I hear a lot of manchester vibes in a few songs. great stuff.
Goodnight Tomb and Woods II are both up there for me as well, but yeah I don't think anything is topping Blood in the Milk
My only complaint so far: I wish the lead guitar was way higher in the mix on the back half of mega church.
This is still getting heavy rotation. 3/4 times a week minimum really. I did not expect to like this even half as much as I do.
After having a few weeks with this, I've determined this album is the worst thing to listen to when you're already deeply depressed.
Listening to Foxing's Draw Down the Moon and realized 737 kicks off that album similarly to this one, and is just as much (if not more) of an outlier to the rest of that album.
Speaking of, I think if you took “Start a Religion” and slightly tweaked the production, it would feel right at home on foxing’s last record.
Still very much in love with this album. I had no idea they had songs like this in them. And yeah, echoing the comment that it's not as depressing as it seems like it could be. Definitely has a strong current of pushing back against darkness/not letting darkness win.
This band’s work never really clicked with me until this album but I absolutely love this, so much that it’s going to be hard for anything else to top it this year I think. ‘I Want to Start a Religion With You’, ‘Blood in the Milk’ and ‘How Did It Used To Be So Easy’ are all-timers.
