I think either before or after Blood in the Milk. The closer here is way too good and I can't imagine it being anywhere else in the tracklisting.
Yeah. That was the other thing. I dont know where else that closer could go lol. Maybe as the penultimate track leading into Demitasse? I kinda like Demitassee after Blood in the Milk as well. Good call there.
For me I feel like if Demitasse is on the album it has to take the place of Jerking Off The Sky/Machines Kept You Alive. I wouldn’t cut them for it though.
the album really doesn't need "demitasse" at all, just one of the many reasons it's so impressive i think of "demitasse" as sort of a skeleton key for the record itself, related but apart, like, of course, the OCL title track
love the opener, personally. it makes sense to me, even if it doesn’t necessarily have a lot in common with the rest of the album, sonically speaking… struggling to put words to why that is tho. agree with this entirely. personally, don’t really think it would fit in with the flow of this record and, while I understand the desire to try and fit the b-side you’re so attached to into the tracklist of the album it was left off, it works better to me as a prologue or epilogue separate from the album proper.
just started this and what the fuck is that opener???? wow, way to grab my attention not expecting this to sound much like a band I last listened to in 2014, wonder how it'll go
Listened to this for this for the first time on a run earlier at lunch, and it is most definitely not an album you can run to - especially songs like Jerking Off The Sky and Estate Sale. Listened to it front to back for a second time when I got back and it's really, really good. A really strong start to 2023.
This album is stunning. Not a bad song on it. I'm not sure why but it most reminds me of Young Statues The Flatlands Are Your Friend. Which is a rare feeling that I'm always seeking because that's a wonderful album.
Funeral Plant Collective (@funeralplant) • Instagram photos and videos Not sure what this is, maybe an imprint on RFC? Similar to how TWY have Loneliest Place On Earth
halfway through and this might be my favourite Fireworks album if this keeps up, jeeeeesus this is good
Never got into this band but I like this. A good bit of it reminds me of what Caracara did on their last album.
This album was def worth the wait, and very effective at battling my post-holiday angst. Very grateful it came out this week
