All in all I had a really good time with this game and I think it’s the longest I’ve taken to beat a main storyline. Pretty much impossible to rank these games, but I’d say this sits pretty comfortably in the middle somewhere. I kinda barely used the Engage mechanic and I’m looking forward to a run with a harder difficulty, because I know I’ll actually need it more often!
I started over the weekend and just finished chapter 5. Lot of fun so far and pretty addicting. I don't really understand "bonding" yet, but I think I'm still in tutorial stuff at this point so I know I'll figure it out eventually.
Haha yes I have loads- but I assume I'll figure it all out at some point. Mostly just confusion about the difference between bonding rings and emblem rings, how/whether they raise weapon skills, and class changing (which I don't think the game introduced yet, but I assume will soon). On my first Three Houses playthrough I didn't really understand the weapon skills / class dynamic until later, and I regretted it because some of the units couldn't progress the way I wanted them to. I don't want to mess that up here.
Bond rings give stat increases, you can create a bunch of them and use them for your allies that don't have an Emblem ring equipped just so that they have a little extra boost. Not sure if they are even necessary or make that much of a difference but I did use them. Once you have enough Emblem rings you won't really need them.
the penultimate battle was wayyyy harder than the final battle, that one was way more of an endurance test the final battle was quick
I have no idea when I gonna finish this bc I’m 43 hours in and I’m only on chapter 22 and ive been playing persona 3 and 4 as well lol
I think I'm somewhere around 50 hours and on chapter 21 or 22? I've been wrapping up paralogues the past few days, but then Theatrhythm came out and took up all my gaming time last night.
I spent so much time in the Somniel just messing around, as well as doing a lot of random skirmishes, so my total play time was 80 hrs
The skirmishes in this game have been kinda challenging for me, I use them to maintain levels on my b-squad. I actually enjoy those more than the main story chapters. So far Yunaka, Zelkov, and Louis are just unstoppable, even without emblem rings, just ridiculous units.
Do you know what class that was? Idk what I'm going to put her into. I'm around Chapter 11 and it doesn't seem like there's a ton of options outside of the default thief class for her.
Here's my main squad and what class I had them in by the end (spoiler tagging because some of these characters don't show up until later): Divine Dragon Panette - Berserker Kagetsu - Swordmaster Merrin - Wolf Knight Goldmary - Hero Etie - Warrior Yunaka - Mage Knight Ivy - Lindwurm Chloe - Griffin Knight Veyle - Thief Mauvier - Royal Knight Celine - Vidame Rosado - Wyvern Knight Citrinne - High Priest
Just finished chapter 17 and definitely feel over leveled lol. Also how do you all decide who to pair rings with. I just slap them on people and never change them
I swapped around a tiny bit til I started coming up with a solid pairing that worked for my strategies. There’s no real wrong way to do it but you can also auto optimize your rings and equipment in the menu
I try to pair emblem rings with units whose skills dovetail, like Lyn is a speed demon so I like to pair her with any of the thieves, archer or swordmaster class characters. Micaiah is good with any healers or mages, etc.
Love putting Zelkov forward, with like 6 enemies targeting just him, and watch him take them all out with counter attacks lol
