i've gotten to the point (still only on chapter 9, 22 hours in) where my main units are killing anyone who approaches them with their counter attacks, so i may have to pull them from the battles to level up some of the others who aren't getting to do as much
One problem is I think Hard can be a little too difficult at times, like where it seems literally impossible to avoid some deaths. But also Normal is too easy because you can largely just bulldoze through a level easily enough. Need a better middle ground
You can also use a second seal to go back into the same class when that unit hits level 20. Keeps all the stats but resets you to level 1 and allows you to progress more.

Agree. Playing on hard/classic and the difficulty is legit - I’ve played for 24+ hours and am only at chapter 9 because some of the battles take so long and I’ve had to restart late because I’ve got myself into a position I can’t get out of (Tiki’s prologue, oh my FUCK). I think hard/casual would have probably been a lot less frustrating but too late to change that now, don’t want to dump down to normal because it’ll be too easy.
few games make me feel as happy as I do while I’m playing this game. I feel like a fuckin strategic battle master
Starting chapter 16 with 20 hours played but on normal casual it’s starting to get tricky lol. Being able to sacrifice units to death and knowing they aren’t gone forever is more my style and I know I’m making moves I wouldn’t otherwise make but that’s part of being a Grand Master Strategist
Ok I just did one of the paralogues after chapter 22 and I found it genuinely challenging even on normal, like just an absurd number of enemies and your team starts out relatively split up. I have no idea how someone would beat this on maddening lol
Speaking of paralogues, I really dislike how practically all of the paralogues are just rehashes of major chapters from old FE games. If I wanted to play those maps then I’d just play those games! Truly so sick of nostalgia bait shit
from my perspective I’ve only played three houses so it’s cool but I get it. and I get why they do it too, since fire emblem never really broke out in the west in a big way until three houses so I see it as a way to get new fans like me familiar with the series as a whole (although remasters and ports of old games would be ideal lol) while also feeding some of that nostalgia bait
Also it makes sense lore wise each emblem hero is trying to teach you something about how they became a champion in the trials so of course it will call back to their respective games
Technically, previous FE entries like Awakening and Fates sold over 2 million (and in Fates' case, closer to 3 million) worldwide, so I'd argue Fire Emblem was already broken in the West before Three Houses. Even the original GBA Fire Emblem sold almost a million.

at the end of my battles, the game has had either panette or yunaka being the MVP and I’m like, “so true, bestie” I could possibly have just both of them on the map and they’d kill everyone on sight
I spend a few minutes there doing arena training and applying inherited skills (which I didn’t know about until well after I lost the first batch of rings RIP) and gearing up and shit but yeah not any more than necessary
Def but there was a def new wave of players brought in with three houses, breakthrough might not have been accurate but it’s def their best performing western title
Panette is so good. I’ve opted for zelkova as my thief and giving him the Lyn emblem is *chefs kiss* although I did have her with panette for a minute too and that ripped
