I’m trying to recruit everyone before the battle of the lion/eagle, but for some reason I can’t for the life of me get Casper and Ferdinand above a B support rank. Like there’s a light blue B when I check the support between them and my MC. Don’t understand this at all Also I’m team Claude idk if that makes a difference?
is achieving the master ranks a must? i built some of my characters without flying/riding and it seems to be a pattern that all of the endgame classes have them. not sure if it’s worth going for
I think the blue B means you’re high enough but you have to talk to them first. Either they will approach you for a conversation some time that month or if you’re exploring and there is a blue text bubble on the map, you can go to it and talk to one of them. Then after that you should be able to recruit them.
Got to the point where I had to make my decision last night and I'm pretty confidant with my choice. I stopped right before the battle against the church (or whatever the battle is after you side with Edelgard) and will hopefully continue tonight. Side note: Every time they showed the Flamer Emperor leading up to this point, they always made a point to have Edelgard away or unavailable, so I called that twist pretty early on hehehe
did anyone besides me pick blue lions? and if so, are you into part 2? because i need to scream about a character but don't want to spoil future playthroughs for people.
I feel bad for anyone who attacks Bernie or Dorothea at this point. The counter attack usually kills them in one shot.
For sure!! I've been using spoiler tags throughout but it won't matter to anyone not playing BL right now. Just trying to find my people :')
I bought this because I wanted a new game to play and I really only play sports games (NBA 2k, MLB The Show, Madden, FIFA). I've really only played the first little battle thing so far and it was really confusing because I've never really played a game like this before. Does it get easier to understand what to do the more you progress and play? Anyone in the same boat that bought this on a whim but never really played a game like this?
This is a super dense game, but once you get on a good rhythm it’s super manageable. I would suggest looking into articles/online guides that help really breakdown things well for newcomers. The game does a decent job at on-boarding you with some things, but I would recommend outside tools to help get you on the right path.
I have never played a Fire Emblem game and I kind of felt the same way with the first battle. However, I’ve really gotten into it since then. I agree that you should check out some articles about tips for the game, they definitely helped me as someone with little to no experience in these types of games.
As someone who got into the series with the first GBA game when I was 9 because Marth and Roy in Smash Bros, I can safely say that it gets easier the more you play. Take advantage of battles on your day off when you can and you'll figure it out eventually. Like everyone said too, online guides are your friend. Hell, I'm a series veteran and there are some systems in Three Houses that I still don't fully understand.
Ive played FE games before and was a little overwhelmed myself, please use this thread for any questions no matter how dumb you may think they are (they won't be dumb) and all of us will be happy to help!
I wish I could practice my discipline of avoiding spoiler tags in here with literally any other area of my life
It def gets easier! But yeah, I've been playing Fire Emblem for like 15 years and I still have no idea why I need battalions
Ive been hesitatant with hiring new ones just because I don't know which ones are better than the others, meh
The gambits come into play when fighting monsters! Plus, it's nice to have the option to knock out some HP without the enemies having a chance to retaliate. I've started using them more later on in the game. You should all look into hiring and assigning whichever battalion does "Stride" so you can boost how far your characters can move in a certain turn!
