Making playlists on Spotify to listen to at work and I was going to make a Finch one.........realized their acoustic one, 2nd EP and none of the demos are on there so I quit. I guess I didn't realized how much I loved the stuff they never officially released as much as the stuff they did lol
Nate just posted a pledgemusic pre-order for Private Lives and it sounds good guys! I pre-ordered the 150g vinyl myself Private Lives: No Future Album Check out the announcement:
I cannot wait to hear the whole album, I was lucky and got the lyric book package! cant stop listening to Man of Faith on youtube. so catchy, so different.
III, the movie that somehow manages to be more John Carpenter-y than any movie he ever made. An absolute classic. But dude, Terminal. Some seriously wonderful songs on that record.
imo: the song Inferium might be the best thing they ever wrote, but I don't really listen to anything else off it. worth a try tho
It's pretty damn good.. but not a worthy follow up to Sunshine. It has some really great songs "Anywhere From Here", "Picasso Trigger", "Play Dead", "Two Guns to the Temple", "Us vs Them", "Tarot", and of course the chilling "Inferium" is just.. wow. The rest of the tracks not mentioned, I don't care for and some of them make me cringe. Check it out and then make sure to hit up youtube for the Phantasma demos (record they wrote before breaking up since half the band wanted to write more ... safe??.. songs) I re-listened to the record again the other day and I would give it 7/10 but only because of Inferium, Picasso Trigger, and Two Guns are some of my favorite Finch jams. Phantasma would have blown Oblivion out the water. The potential those demos have.. ugh.
I recently reached out to Travis through Facebook to explain the importance of that record in my life. He actually responded and was super kind. It kills me that they ended after that LP.
I still wonder why R2K left a year before the band ended.. he supposedly had nothing to do with Phantasma.
That's so nice to hear. I think about City by the Sea and Sunday Parking Lot often, actually. Every time I try to remember how to spell restaurant, I hear it in my head like the way he says it. But yeah, those, Dark, and of course Foster are just wonderful songs.
