F U C K. It's never been more over (again). Mentions demos, lyrics sheets, and a new band. Nothing about Finch. My drywall has never been in more danger. I shouldn't have fallen for it again. I'll never learn. I can't imagine a more frustrating music experience than being a Finch fan.
That’s wild. I swear this band is one of the most dysfunctional group relationships in music if they’re really done again.
I was just sitting there on the edge of my seat waiting to hear, "Finally, we'll be releasing a new Finch album this year. We know you've been waiting patiently. Thank you for the support. We're excited for you to hear what's next!" Nothing. Looks like they're still playing Aftershock this year so maybe things are still happening in the background, but man, how long do we have to wait?
Oh boy, as soon as I saw that close-up, I got big 2016 flashbacks... when he dropped that interview against his bandmates and dropped the Phantasma demos behind their back Also Nate in his mid 40s now looks like a mix of Dave Grohl and Nate Newton lol
I’m definitely starting to get to my limit on caring about this band anymore. It’s been TWO YEARS since they did the goddamn Bayside tour where they played two new tracks and it’s been 5 years since they were teasing new recordings.. WTF
Yeah! It’s maddening! It’s like they don’t even care. How hard is it to provide an update about your band? It’s almost disrespectful.
Honestly, I’m not sure they do care. When I caught them at Slam Dunk South last year, you could feel the tension within the band. They barely interacted with the crowd, let alone each other. It’s apparent they still don’t gel both personally, as well as musically. I’ve accepted we won’t be getting new music. They’ve lost momentum and are now a legacy act, which is fine. That said, they’ll forever be one of the biggest what ifs of “the scene.” (I would certainly love to be wrong though.)
Yeah, the fact that their only announcement for this year related to Finch is one festival show seems to confirm this. It’s a shame.
