Everyone’s favorite Finch album, Say Hello To Sunshine, turns 20 today.

 

I remember a couple of mixes in this (might be the demo I listened to most? whatever was on my iPod!), but listening for the first time in a while, Nate's vocal feels so weirdly mixed. The clarity of it and the loudness. Sort of sits apart from the instrumental.

Oh I saw that the other day on the subreddit. I remember them saying they added some additional stuff or redid some parts themselves as the original demos are so low quality. It's more like a reimagining than a straightforward remaster in that sense. Still think it's cool. This one finally sounds like how I heard in my head after watching the 2009 live footage over and over again as a kid.

Shows how starved for new music the fanbase is lol

this is really cool and damn I wish the band would update and release these someday. If a "reimagining" by a self-admitted non audio engineer can be this good, I'd love for them to get any kind of proper release treatment. It's a damn shame more bands don't end up releasing demos after some time has passed, I love when stuff like this emerges.
