It's wild how they did nothing for awhile, hopped on the Bayside tour and premiered two new songs and then... nothing since. It's been almost a year. I do not understand this band at all.
They must be sitting on a new record as they’ve been recording on and off since 2020 I believe. If true, they’ll now have just as many unreleased records as their released ones lol Fingers crossed that this is the year they kick into proper gear!
Big possibility that they all have families and jobs and need to navigate around those. While they may want to tour and release an album, they may be holding off until schedules can lineup for them to properly promote.
I respect that level of realism and optimism, but also they could just be transparent about it if so and not just leave us hanging for months/years at a time. edit: not that I'm saying they owe us that or anything, they can do what they want, I just wanna know what's going on
I, for my part, do not want that. They already did that and it's perfect for a lot of people. I love Say Hello To Sunshine to the moon and back and even that I don't want AGAIN.
I was sort of fanning the fire with my comment but I'm a WIITB or bust guy when it comes to Finch. They've been a bit all over for me post that album.
The new songs sounded (to me at least) like a more modern SHTS with much more Deftones influence. With the right production, it could be perfect.
I hope that—no matter what they produce next—it sounds better than Back To Oblivion. The entire album, unfortunately, sounded like listening to music inside an old cooking pot. Totally tinny. The songs weren’t that bad, but the production was just awful.
The song Back to Oblivion sounded good live I thought on the WIITB tour, but I do agree that the final mixing of that song / album was off.
Indeed, I hope the production can be better this time. Even the reunion EP back in the day sounded a bit off. I assume Grizzly is going to be at the helm as I remember him working as a producer in his day to day life.
It is the similar situation with Finch as say AFI. Some bands really need an external producer to get the right sound out of the band.
i thought it was common knowledge that the reason music rarely comes out from these guys is because nate & randy have conflicting musical views
yah there is 3 songs on it, just doing a physical media purge and thought a finch fan might want it in their collection.
Are the two radio edits different? This is pretty cool. Also these guys are opening for TSL on like, 3 dates of their tour this year, so maybe it means they're still doing something?
Found this flipping through disc replay today , I feel like you don’t find much finch media in general at resale shops.
I feel like the fanbase kind of ignores BTO now, but I spun it a lot when it came out and still think it's a solid piece of the discography. "Inferium" is one of the best songs they've ever written, and "Play Dead" is a JAM
