I just hope Finch gets longer than like a 45 min set.

Highly doubtful with 4 bands and it being a Bayside headliner.

Nothing hurts more than the band doing rather consistent touring these days while sitting on 12+ (Phantasma + later demos) unofficial songs in their back pocket with no known plans to formally release them to receive additional momentum and financial support in return.

I understand they may not want to officially release those songs, but it’s such a frustrating experience.

  4. Probably will be something like this:

    Bayside 60+
    Finch 30-35
    AFS 30
    WF 20

I commented on Pappas' Facebook for them to perform "Picasso Trigger" or at least a song from Back To Oblivion and he heart reacted to my comment

So I'm hoping they play something for the one Finch fan who absolutely adores that album, me!

If they get 8 songs, here are my guesses for what they would perform

    New Beginnings
    Letters To You
    Post Script
    Stay With Me
    What It Is To Burn
    -----------------
    Insomniatic Meat
    Ink
    -----------------
    Play Dead

Picasso Trigger, Two Guns, and Inferium might be the only tracks that I love from Oblivion but I would to hear one of those live nonetheless.

The last 25 seconds of Two Guns to the Temple always has me feeling like:

You’re probably on the money with this. I would be happy with a 10 track realistic setlist of:

    New Beginnings
    Letters To You
    Post Script
    Grey Matter
    Ender
    What It Is To Burn
    -----------------
    Insomniatic Meat
    Brother Bleed Brother
    Ink
    -----------------
    Picasso Trigger

I would rather them not play What It Is To Burn or Letters To You to make room for more deep cuts but we all know that ain’t happening lol

    this is all there is

It's definitely something I could have kept to myself, ultimately meaningless and inconsequential, as I intend for pretty much all my comments here to be. It ain't that deep, but, I'm sorry, I guess?

It's okay, at least you're not the person who thinks new bands shouldn't get to be on tour.

    Things have changed.

No bands should be able to tour, actually. Not a one

The last 10+ pages got me to listen to SHTS for the first time since it came out, really don't understand it, I hope they don't play a single song off that thing.

On the contrary, this whole episode encouraged me to go back and revisit SHTS after many years and I kinda fell in love with it all over again. Finch dominated my Last.fm plays over the past few weeks and man, after a rather disappointing beginning of the year as far as new music goes, Finch dropping a new tune or two would've really turned things around. Oh well, I'll just lump them alongside The Ataris and Dredg and hope for one last new album from all of them before I die.

Here’s an interesting podcast featuring Nate that I stumbled upon.

    https://open.spotify.com/episode/72xi2nCqiZEUO3YABwcvOH?si=4uhMozlRR0-Pa43hQJ-QsA

    Cliff notes:
    - Wrote a bunch of “awesome” new material before COVID they’ve been sitting on.
    - Members are all still busy (example: Grizz is rumored to be tour manager for Slipknot these days)
    - “I think Finch deserves to come back and do something great.”
    - New music is “the next phase” and Nate wants to come out “swinging”.

It kinda caught me off guard how enthusiastic and optimistic Nate sounds about this new chapter of the band.

  25. Having only a three to four years gap between what could’ve been Phantasma and the material they wrote pre-COVID (and still plan to finish if I’m understanding Nate’s words in the podcast correctly) makes me hope it’s going to lean close to the former, at least.
