Finch Setlist at House of Blues, Chicago Edit: Tonight's setlist Edit 2: At the end of the show Nate said "We will see you all soon"
He was in a band Nate started after Finch's second (edit: third!) breakup. You can see him on drums in this music video:
I figured it out that he was in Private Lives soon after yall told me it was him. I mean, i knew that Nate was in PL, but i didn't know who Kenny was at the time or i didn't delve much into it. I mean, i didn't know about the band till after they stopped. I remember really liking the album, but it was no longer available for purchase. But hey, if Kenny is involved with Finch, so that means there is still some hope Private Lives might do something again too one day. Not to say that Finch shouldn't take precedent though. I hope they actually make something new again soon.
Hey, has anyone here listened to TrustCompany? Particularly The Lonely Position of Neutral is the album I'm familiar with. I find that Ender has a very similar quality, mostly in terms of Nates vocals in the beginning. It's got me wanting to listen to that record now. Lol
I feel like they were brought up in another thread recently.....I saw Trust Company when they released their first album and they had a 92 cent show promoted by the local radio station (92.3...hence the 92 cents).....had such a great time ... Downfall was a jam!
92 cents. Damn! No it's funny, i was just talking earlier to someone about how ticket prices are insane now.
Y'all probably seen this already, but fuck! I thought Insomniatic Meat sounded good before, but it's on a whole nother level live! Also, the fangirl in me noticing Nate's little wiggle right after minute 1. Teehee
Ok, so can we talk about Back to Oblivion? What do we like about it? What do songs mean to you? Songs, best to worst. Whatever else you wanna add. I've been catching up with it and gotta say i really do like it! Still need to listen more to it and at least once in complete order (firs try, half the vids were not available). Anyway, what do you think?
I remember hearing the title track live and thinking it was pretty dope before the album came out but I know a huge part of their fan base really wanted WIITB 2 after how successful their 10 anniversary shows were.
I like several songs a lot but overall it didn’t make a huge impact on me. SHTS is still their best by far for me.
Everytime I go back to Back to Oblivion I end up thinking "oh I like this" then immediately forget about it right after. It sounds more... ordinary than I was expecting at the time. Phantasma is so much better and feels more "Finch", if that makes sense.
Phantasma is up next on my list. I think i get how BTO can be a bit unforgettable. I mean, I'll be listening and enjoying it, but it doesn't really stick to me the next day. It could just be that I've only listened to it once so far, but I've had other songs stuck in my head before after only hearing them once so idk! I really like Inferium too. The last couple of tracks, Play Dead. Basically the tracks that Randy and Nate liked most, once upon a time in an interview i saw. The Great Divide was really good too, and i think maybe Us vs Them. It's weird though that so many folks love SHTS so much here. While i like some songs there and definitely appreciate them venturing out into new interests, it's probably my least fave album, so far. Idk
Lol i already had it open Oh man! Black Mass is a total badass track! I'm gonna have to listen to the rest later cuz my battery is dead, but wow! That's what I'm talking about! Not exactly sure who's influence is on particular tracks, but i really like this one.
