Made it about 30 seconds into a weakened friends song. Woof, the vocalist is graaaaaating. Music sounds good, though.
We thinking there’ll be any sort of encore of other songs for this tour? Or most likely the whole setlist is WIITB front to back and that’s it? I’ll be happy either way since I’ve never seen them before, just curious what to expect based on past reunions and whatnot
When I saw the 10 year tour back in 2013 they played Worms of the Earth, Waiting, and New Kid before ending with What It Is to Burn
Philly show in 2013 they encored with Worms, Waiting, New Kid, Bury Me (hearing them play bury me sent me to the stratosphere)
I hope the encore is something like Worms, New Kid, Ink, Daylight, and then WIITB. Something from their first EP, SHTS, their self-titled EP and also Worms would be good. I remember the Chicago date for the 10 year tour was the first EP and Worms. Bury Me would be good as well, I completely forgot that song existed.
Since they have 2 shows in some cities then I'm hoping they play different sets. I'm really hoping they play "Waiting", it's one of my faves.
I remember the rumor of Pappas being kicked out because he couldn’t execute on playing for the new material lol I do prefer Marc Allen’s style of drumming but I’m glad that appears to have never been the case.
They did it for the 10 year so here’s to hoping! WIITB is great and all but SHTS is the only record of theirs I consider an all around masterpiece :)
I saw him play a few songs before during their last reunion cycle and it was fine. Nothing that blew me away but Nate sounded just as good live as on record! I’ve been a fan since I downloaded the leaked demos/album on KaZaa (throwbackkkk) many months before the record came out. I already planned to preorder the CD but hearing it made me even more eager to do so. It’s been really nice to see a newfound appreciation from members on this site over it. I can remember when it first came out and so many people shit all over it and I can see why given how different it is but it really was ahead of it’s time. Plus - if there was any band in the “scene” that had to change it up by 2005 - it was Finch IMO.
Love it! ^ Omg! I wanna go to the What it is to Burn concert so badly! Its like my favorite album. Listening to it, especially Letters to You, and feeling so emo! "I miss you, i miss you so"
Seeing them play those songs makes me so happy. Just... please make this reunion last. I don't think I can go through one more messy breakup lol. edit: Looks like the new bassist was in Private Lives with Nate.
I’m gonna be real bummed if I see them go through a bad breakup for a third time lol They’ve been recording new stuff on and off for the last two years so I imagine a new record is on its way either later this year or next.
You really don't understand. I wanna go to the WIITB concert so badly, because I got into that album later in life and have never seen the band live before and just think it would be a blast! But unfortunately i cant go. Not only because it's on a work night, but also the fact that i have health issues that make concert going near, if not totally impossible. And even though I think I might be able to stand it for this particular show, I'm not sure my company will be able to. And i will not go downtown alone. So these next few weeks are gonna be hard! Sorry, i know i whined already, but I'm really bummed right now. Please don't hate me!
I messaged Pappas on Facebook. I said, "Any chance you all will do a podcast/interview/AMA to answer any fan questions? So many things I'd love to know but I figure you guys wanna either give it some time, or you are enjoying the moment and just focused on doing great shows coming up " Pappas said, "Right now its just focus on doing the shows well. But who knows what happens after... in a good way. Going to make sure everything feels right doing this little run."
