I just randomly listened to WIITB front to back the other day. First time I've listened to it in forever. Holds up so well. Hated their follow-up.
I remember the first time I listened to SHTS, I called my GF at the time (we had just started dating) to rant about how different the sound was. She had no fucking clue what I was talking about.
Maybe she would’ve appreciated it more than you! Haha in all seriousness I get that that it was a super polarizing album at the time. I got into the band much later on, and imo that helped me appreciate both albums for what they are since I had no preconceptions. I adore them both.
If anyone is curious as to why there was another break up back in 2016 - here’s some solid insight from Nate:
The guys have been working on new music for a while now so I imagine we’re gonna get a 20 year anniversary repress of WIITB along a tour for it and then eventually a new record. I’m here for it all. Finch has been a favorite band of mine ever since 2002 and I’ll support them however they allow me to!
Randy quit months before the band ended. No reason was given why but I don’t think it was the main factor as to why they broke up (again)
If you end up missing the tour for the 20th anniversary, don't worry there will probably be one for the 25th and 30th as well.
I saw them on their 10th anniversary tour and it was killer. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen them before to make a date on this tour.
