Would hope so... went to the SHTS cd release show (WIITB, too) and would love to see that played front to back again.

 

As Cities Burn. 10 years ago I stopped keeping up with all the drama. Can’t stand the new album. I actually enjoyed Finch’s last effort though.

 

It’s really hard to read SHTS without first reading it as SHITS

Even thought it is getting a little ridiculous (esp since this is the 2nd time they have scrapped what seemed like incredible albums), I'm down for another reunion for the SHTS stuff since it never really got too much love when they got back for WISTB.

I wasn't a fan of SHITS, but I'd still go to that show just so I can see them and check that off the nostalgia bucket list.

Well, I was surprised to see a new invite on instagram and finding out it was their bassist. He's about to drop a solo album in November:

But YEAH! Finch is recording! I would complain about this being like the 3rd time they broke up and got back together but I don’t care - Nate is one of my favorite vocalists period. Finch is also one of my favorite bands and even though I found Back to Oblivion to be hit or miss as a whole - I am hypedddddd!

 

Wait seriously? I mean I'm excited but... I hope it turns out differently this time. Anyone know if the lineup is the same as the last reunion?

 

Randy better be a part of the album

I think after they had a successful comeback with the WISTB 10 year tours, a lot of fans were expecting an album more in that vein again but was disappointed with BTO. For what it was I enjoyed BTO a fair bit on release, although I haven't listened to it in a while so on re-listen I might change my mind.

Going to do a discog run of these guys tomorrow at work.

 

Yeah I'm about to do a discog run as well. They've been teasing all summer so it wouldn't surprise me if we get some info before the end of the year. I haven't revisited Back To Oblivion in a long time, so I'm especially curious to hear it without any expectations.

Posting this because I forgot about this rare song:

 

They started posting a few months back on Fridays with a #finchfridays post so I was like .... either this is a reunion or perhaps a repress of something they’re gonna drop. However, Nate and Randy been playing some gigs together lately and now with this vid of Griz and Nate? I’m thinking a reunion and I am absolutely here for it!

 

I love that song. I really wish they would properly record all of their scrapped songs. I would pay a decent amount for it. Both the songs on the scrapped LP3 from back their World of Violence project and Phantasma have so much potential if they made it past demo stage.

 

I only hope they don’t reunite to put out songs in the vein of “These Buildings Are Burning”. It’s just a regressive dumbed down sound for what these guys are capable of and have put out.

However, I’m pretty sure that if Nate is back - he probably put his foot down about that. It’s the reason he dipped so I doubt he would budge on that.

 

Damn I wish we had got a real album of these still. Some real potential with some of these songs.

 

Phantasma is fantastic. With a full studio treatment - this could have easily been up to par with Say Hello To Sunshine.

 

Well if they tour again I need to go see them.

 

I’m so happy. Looks like R2K is back as well. We are all so blessed.
