I could probably name 100 artists you love, but the top 10 is challenging.

    Bruce
    Butch
    Andrew
    Isbell
    Jimmy Eat World
    Nathanson
    U2
    The Dangerous Summer
    TSwift
    Chad

I feel like there isn't enough country there?

Also some bands I know you love like Keane, Counting Crows, Fleetwood Mac, Dashboard, etc., but not sure they'd hit top 10

It must kill you that a baby's shoulders are too narrow to fit Giannis' last name.

You got very close. The definite eight are:

    Butch
    Bruce
    Jimmy
    Andrew
    Taylor
    Crows
    U2
    Isbell

Some coin tosses for the last two slots though. Nathanson, Chad, Dashboard, Petty, Kacey, Dawes, Gaslight/Brian, Dangerous Summer, The Killers, Matchbox Twenty, John Mayer, and The Wallflowers would all be in the conversation.

DAMN! I moved the Crows out for Swift. I wasn't suuuure about Nathanson, but I know Some Mad Hope is waaaaaaaay up on your list so I rolled the dice.

island in the sun is better than pretty much any song jim adkins has ever written

people say JEW is a great pop rock band and island in the sun is like thee perfect 00s pop rock song

  13. Island in the Sun is a great pop song and I mean that both as a compliment and an insult.

I loathed "Island in the Sun" when it was on the radio. I've since grown to find it charming.

The Crows are tricky, because their output has been so thin for the past 20 years that it's been tough to justify keeping them on the list. But they're also maybe THE formative band for me, and I still hold those first four albums so dearly.

Matt is definitely right up there. Some Mad Hope is the only all-timer for me, but Modern Love is close, and Boston Accent is worming its way in there. Plus, his live show is such a joy that he gets a boost from that.

I find "Island in the Sun" to be a little bit annoying. Probably how some Jimmy Eat World fans think about "The Middle," which, incidentally, is my pick for the perfect 2000s pop-rock song.

Green is a pretty perfect pop rock record that would be a million bands’ best record. Clarity is the only one I’d see being even close to better than it by Jimmy

I also consider it the 4th best Weezer record

Island in the Sun is a perfect example for me of Green's blandness. Also don't like the "hip hip"s at all.

Yeah, I'm just mystified by that description of Green. To me, it's an album of hooks that don't quite get there, uninspired lyrics, and a band that mostly sounds bored. Van Weezer and White are both way catchier and way more fun.

I love Island in the Sun. You know I’m a Weezer defender here through and through, but I’d take A Praise Chorus and Sweetness over any song on the green album.

as far as green as a whole, I fall somewhere between otw and Craig. It is very solid and would be an achievement for a lot of bands. But it also is a little boring, less so in the songwriting and more so in the completely one note production outside iits. I think it’s closer to white and vw than it is to blue pink and maybe maladroit

The live show really makes such a dent. Between Donovan and Matt I laughed more than at a few stand-up shows I've been to.
