I like that Midgar is expanded. It's a rich world that we didn't see as much as I wanted to originally. There's plenty of places to expand on the story in there, and locations like Shinra Tower that are going to be much larger in scope now.

 

I didnt like FF7 Midgar. If FF7R makes it 80 hours but actually expands it and gives us more to do I am very for it

 

Yeah i've always had that feeling that I can't wait to get out of midgar when I play FF7, I don't think that will effect my time playing this one, it will be that much sweeter when part 2 comes out.

 

I'm gonna replay the demo with the adjusted camera settings in the next few days, looking back on playing yesterday I did enjoy it I was just overwhelmed I guess?

 

If that is 80 hours, how long are these other parts of the game going to be? I don't need 50 hours at Red's ancestral home.

I can't remember who I was speaking to about this earlier but after finishing 9 on the Switch, I have now purchased 7 (and no, I have never completed this game) so hopefully get that done in the next few weeks.

I want to play through 9 again but its such a time sink. I'd love to finally beat Ozma. I struggled with that as a kid.

 

Nice! Downloaded it on Switch for roughly £12. I was looking through old boxes on Saturday and found my original PS1 copy that I had never finished and then the demo came out. Wha a few days for FF7 for me!

I'm gonna take my time with it, the massive spoilers were inevitable so I know those but that doesn't usually hinder my experience with these types of games.

 

Ozma can go to hell

 

the problem is Midgar is the least interesting part. To massively expand what is almost the prologue for the actual game is kind of a bummer, it's going to suck to see the credits pop up just when the game is about to open up

 

Easily my least favorite boss in any game. And I sat through Yiazmat.

 

Yiazmat and Ozma are both in FFXIV and both are/were great battles

 

Yup, definitely agree. It's just not fun knowing your stuck inside an area with little to explore. I suppose they can expand Midgar but that doesn't sound like fun.

 

2 lazy to read through the pages so maybe someone caught this already in the demo for 7

if you select 20 minutes on the bomb instead of 30, you get an extra little iconic clip after the title pops up

I did 20 (only needed like...4?). Didn’t the original game have you fighting the scorpion while the timer was going?

also I didn’t notice an extra scene?

 

It did. That was my first thought when I watch the lengthy video of that boss fight.

 

Enjoyed the 7 demo quite a bit, aside from some cheesy voice acting. Love the combat system.
