1-5 are pretty tech free unless you count airships. 6 ventured into steampunk territory and 7 took it farther. 9 was indeed a callback to the classic FF games, which is why it is my favorite.
I feel like X is very futuristic with the technology in it. One of the main conflicts it the religion vs. technology debate that goes on with Wakka and Yevon. It's not like traditionally futuristic, but there's a lot in there that makes it feel very futuristic if that makes sense
a Final Fantasy that went full high fantasy would probably get flogged with unearned Dragon Quest comparisons but i would very much welcome it
i suppose but i enjoy them considerably less. art style is unbelievable but characters and gameplay are super bland and repetitive
Man, this talk of FFX is making me want to do a replay but I have such a backlog of newer games to finish.
Lightning dodge and Kimhari's butterflies were a nightmare for me Dodging got a little easier once I watched a video and found the spot where the lightning consistently strikes every time you go over it. Still took me like 3 hours.
does anyone who has IX on Switch know if it allows you to rebind the controls? i want to buy VII when it comes out but only if i can make the controls feel a bit more modern
to be fair i never played IX but i recall some weirdness from VII (i believe Circle was the action button or something weird)
Circle was the action button in VII I believe IX has X as action though. I could be wrong tho I usually am
