I'm a fan of Nomura's, I just meant Nomura takes so looooooooooong to develop his games that I always got the impression Square was getting antsy waiting for it to come out. Like, I always assumed the reason why Versus XIII became XV was because SE wanted a new mainline FF title to launch, realized that Versus XIII was already so far into development that they needed to almost cut their losses and put it out in some acceptable form, and decided to pivot it. I'm probably wrong though. So with someone else (although like you said, hopefully not Tabata) directing XVI, hopefully the production is more efficient and doesn't cause SE to throw up their hands and say "just get it released, whatever it takes."
Hahaha I know which one you're talking about. My main is a Lalafell (the tiny people with the elf ears) and my current class is Red Mage. (I was originally Conjurer/White Mage, then Arcanist/Scholar/Summoner, now Red Mage) My favorite thing is probably the fact that you can be each class without having to make a new character. My biggest gripe so far (which you will discover later) is the Heavensward plot. ARR plot ended amazingly and then Heavensward just kinda wiped it out and sucked. The gameplay for HW was great but I couldn't get behind the plot at all.
yeah, re: dlc rn i'm trying to figure out the most cost effective way to purchase it all because i don't wanna buy all the expansions up front and not ever get to them, but i also don't want to pay for all of it as i go and get a big mark up as a result
I'd advise buying HW a bit past the level 50 mark, all the stuff in the expac will be locked until level 50 so it's pointless to get before then What server did you end up going on? If you're on my server I'll hop on and play with you when I can and I should be able to advise you when a good point to actually get the expac is haha
Nomura reminds me a lot of Kojima. They both have these grandiose ideas that they want to see to completion, but it just takes too long and sometimes it's completely unrealistic to accomplish. I wish we could've gotten Nomura's true final vision of the game, but who knows how long that would've taken to come out.
i'll have to look! i picked the group of servers that included yours, but not sure where i actually got placed - i'll take a look tonight
If you got put on a shitty server and want to be on mine let me know, I'll get you a transfer (call it a secret santa gift)
Actually I take it back he should remake FF6 I want him in charge of the opera scene after his NieR Romeo & Juliet scene
stop making me feel want to play ffxiv, guys though it would be a good time killer until monster hunter...
I like 8 a lot but I don't wanna debate that one cuz I completely get how people can dislike it and I respect everyone's opinion and all But holy hell I'm kinda amazed there's a FF anyone likes less than 2, that's the most broken game I've ever played
Yeah the main reason I stopped is because I got OBSESSED That's kinda why I want y'all to come play, I wanna have people I can play it with just for fun and at our own pace and not be like a hardcore raider and all that shit anymore, cuz all the people I played with in the past were completely hardcore players haha
I may end up playing soon. Waiting to see what's going on with the house I applied to rent. if that all goes well I probably will start playing this month.
Amazingly enough I have more IRL friends that I made from FFXIV than I do from Chorus It's a great community
I actually persevered through FF2 and finished it on the GBA port. I even started playing the bonus dungeon afterwards but got destroyed rather quickly and just gave up. I didn't even try to finish 8. I was in very different places in life for each one however. I'd give 8 another shot...some day lol
8 is one that like, I enjoy a LOT, but it's also due to it being one of my first FFs. There's nostalgia bias present for sure and I also know it's a very broken game in terms of being way too easy if played how it should be, so I try to create my own challenges in it (which is the big thing I like about it: you can be so flexible in how difficult you decide the game will be). But yeah I can see how people playing it in 2018 would be like "Uhh this sucks" hahaha.
i bought the iOS port of 6 a few weeks ago knowing full well it would just take up space on my phone, that prophecy has been fulfilled. need to pick up a cheap DS lite or 2DS that i'm okay with losing so i can play this stuff on my commute... with buttons.
This is why I can't do mobile gaming. They just eat my battery up so fast. BUT I would make an exception for 6 because it's that good lol
