i'm torn because of the three X is the only one i've played before, so i feel i should try XII but i just wanna play the one i know i like
I love X because it feels like the most strategic combat. It’s a game where you can’t just grind and kill everything, you have to discover how to counter bosses effectively and create plans
i was all about beautiful/colorful landscapes back when the ps2 launched so i loved X because i was all "it's like i am at this beach"
2 is very meh. I hated the leveling/stat growth system, its very akin to the SaGa series (which makes sense because I think the SaGa guy worked on this one)
it was (and still is, for the most part, the art style held up very well) a very pretty game. i know i'm going to be fairly alone in my thoughts on FFX. i still like it! just...not as much as a bunch of other final fantasy games that i have much stronger nostalgia for.
no lie, the one i have the most nostalgia for is the Dawn of Souls version of the first. playing that on my GBA in bed is a very fond memory of mine.
FFX is definitely the one I have the most nostalgia for, growing up not understanding I had aspergers, FFX was my best friend for years
it's so rudimentary and could easily be a slog because it's obviously ridden with JRPG tropes, but it winds up being a perfect snapshot of what those turn of the 90s JRPGs were at their best
being bad at FF6 on an SNES as a kid is my fondest, strongest FF memory close second is FF7 also the dawn of souls remakes are actually pretty solid, but i do like fairly simple straightforward JRPGs (i am a big dragon quest fan after all)
yep. dragon quest is my main jrpg love over ff. DQ9 is one of my favorite modern gaming experiences. doesn't hurt that i'm a dragon ball nut and toriyama handles character design
