Just opened up my second job board. Sitting at level 25. Loving this experience even more than I remember.
it's about a kingdom resisting the empire that's controlling them, I think. A lot of people die in the game within the first hour because of the initial invasion. It's actually a bit hard to watch, but I am also on the sensitive side, so, lol. i am intrigued for the end of the story. something about it gives me a star wars vibe. As for your other question, I'm still like idk two or three hours in, so I can't say much, but it does a good job of explaining the controls and mechanics, and I already understand the battle system pretty well. The music is great, so it makes exploring more enjoyable. and the graphics are very well done, so they did a good job with the re mastering. it eases you in, so it doesn't feel too overwhelming.
And since we already have this thread which among the series is your personal favorite? Which is the best and the worst?
There are a lot of Star Wars-y elements in it, which make it feel super epic: evil empire conquering the world, resistance led by a strong princess character, the one party member Balthier is basically Han Solo, Vaan has a fair bit of character similarities to Luke circa A New Hope, etc. A lot of cool mythology about the world too, plus the political intrigue angle is there as well. It's one of my favorite narratives in the entire series.
Everyone experiencing XII for the first time/re-experiencing it is really making it hard for me to resist picking this up haha
Finding out that XII was going back to Ivalice is 100% what sold me on the game. Seeing Montblanc again was a joy.
My being a big Star Wars fan is probably a big part of why I latched on to XII so hard back in the day. To think that I was still 7 months away from turning 16 when XII came out is wild. I've been watching some gameplay videos and stuff the last couple days and the nostalgia is so real.
