I like how Tidus is genuinely how an ordinary person would react to being thrown into a ridiculously different world. So many games have protagonists being thrown into completely insane scenarios and being so "cool" and Tidus is so unbelievably uncool. He can be annoying but it's realistic and how I imagine I'd react if one day I watched my home being destroyed then found myself basically in a new realm.
When I played the game I don't think I ever found him annoying. It was only years later when I saw people talk about the game online that I even knew people felt that way.
I was in middle school the first time I played it so I didn't notice it that much. Wakka is more annoying.
There's really no character I disliked in FFX. Wakka had fantastic development near the end. Honestly I don't think I'll ever enjoy a game as much as FFX
I love Wakka too but he definitely annoyed me at times with his racism and stuff but I think that was intentional.
A lot of the characters in the older Final Fantasy games get the benefit of the doubt because they did not have voice acting. If they had voice acting back then it would be hard to put up with Barret or the kid characters from the early ones.
Yeah it was definitely intentional, and near the end he comes to grips with it after he begins to question his faith.
Has anyone been keeping up with FF15, I really wish you could do old timed quests. I missed so many that's the reason I stopped playing really. Oh and I've been playing Crash Bandicoot..
Everyone talks about 7 being overrated. 10 is definitely overrated in my book. The only part I really liked about 10 was the battle system. Other than that you can have Tidus and the weak ass story imo
With 10 I feel like I played it at the perfect time of my life to absolutely love it. If I played it for the first time later in life I might not enjoy it nearly as much as I did when I first played it, but since I still have that nostalgia there I can enjoy it to the fullest still.
Had hoped to be playing XII today, but alas, Amazon has failed me. Have to wait until tomorrow. Eh, whatever.
X is the best game ever made. VII isn't far behind. Playing the Final Fantasy Card Game right now, lol. Edit: second best, forgot about Bloodborne, my bad.
X started the trend of having superbosses with extremely high stats that require tedious grinding. XII went too far with Yiazmat, but even Nemesis in X is a headache to even unlock.
