just looked up how and it's interesting since I saw that line on the map, I flew around for a while but didn't see anything. Didn't want to risk crashing while trying to land and sit through a long loading screen.
I crashed a few times trying to land there, hah. It's a very unique dungeon though, kind of frustrating but unlike anything else in the game. I thought it was neat.
37 hours in. Level 47. Just finished chapter 9. That boss fight could have been epic if it wasn't such a mess and take so long when it was a completely rigged boss fight. Also was pretty upset at the report that a somewhat main character was killed at that point. I think I have my overall thoughts of the game pretty much figured out but also want to finish the main game before I give them. One thing I will mention since people are talking about how the bosses in FFX become more complex is that I miss that aspect of previous FF games. FFXV battles have all felt the same, just with varying levels of difficulty. It's the same process every time. In FFX you had to decide when to time attacks, what type of attacks and such....
For real. I only have hunts. Which I'm half way to being a lvl 5 and weapon upgrade quests.. curious as to what's to come.
Nice. Just passed 41 hours for me. Level 52 and on chapter 10. I went back and have been doing a lot of the side quests. Learned I'm only a level 3 Hunter though so I can't do one of the quests that requires a level 4 Hunter yet. I'm at that spot where I want to advance the story but also want to keep doing side quests for the experience and completionist in me.
I was in the same boat with the Takka lvl 4 Hunter mission so then I got to 4 and went and did it, killed the beast and didn't get what I needed. Only theory I have (outside of if you just don't necessarily automatically get it...which...Fuck that) is that I killed it with our large electrical grandpa in the sky. Maybe summons are a no-no. Or it was just a glitch, which is probably some Occam's razor shit.
I put in about 10 more hours this weekend. This game has so much character. I was hoping it would bring back those JRPG vibes I've longed for and it definitely has. I love the ebb and flow of the game. It really does make you feel immersed. The travel system with the Regalia is great, I didn't really appreciate it until playing further. I'm enjoying the combat a bit more. Though it's not perfect by any means. This and the magic system are the only real flaws for me. I feel like I will be more infatuated with this game as I keep playing.
It's probably the best fishing minigame I've ever played. I stumbled upon a fishing spot that doesn't seem to be listed in the guide. Saxham Reservoir I think? I can't hook anything there. Must need lures I don't have access too yet.
Just finished chapter 13. Aside from it being waaaaaaaaaay too looooooong, I don't think it was quite as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
I didn't mind it - the attempt at a survival horror-type atmosphere was cool - but it was like at least 3x as long as it needed to be.
Yea especially when the two previous chapters were super short. Such an iconic FF god deserves more than like 5 minutes haha
The biggest problem with Chapter 13 is not being able to run. It's fucking ridiculous. It's one of the biggest areas of the game and you are constantly backtracking, moving slowly makes it unbearable. Also the Ring is apparently super important/powerful but it's useless other than this chapter
Finally decided to move along in the story. The only thing I don't like is how short the chapters are without doing side quests. Like three missions and it's the next. The base infiltration missions are cool tho.
Yeah. Aside from chapter 13 the actual story chapters are super short. I've heard a "story only" run is about 15 hours. Not sure how people level up enough to be strong enough to do that though.
Damn, that stinks. I also really like finding dungeons for the Royal Arms. Do you guys plan on playing after the story? I realized I have about 45% of the trophies already. I'm gonna try to platinum this game for sure.
I'm 41 hours in and in chapter 14 now. I'm gonna beat it, take a break and then do more side quests and after game stuff in a few weeks or something. Gonna take a break from it for sure. But plan on coming back to it.
