So if I finish chapter 8 I won't be able to return to the open world? I have so many unfinished quests that I don't want to leave
As much as I love this game and want to finish the story, the patch announcements really just inspire me to keep doing sidequests. I'm on chapter 6 now, level 43, plenty of stuff I still need to/want to do, so I'm just hoping this patch comes sooner than later.
Yes it's called Regroup. It's his first Tech that you can get, I highly recommend it. I use it all the time.
Me too, I was doing a hunt last night and my game crashed and gave me an error code. Thankfully I had just saved and it loaded back, but I was sweating bullets. Also, I've noticed the dialogue and music will start to not play or sync right if I haven't saved in a while.
I've encountered surprisingly few errors. The only really annoying one was in chapter 3 when you're running from Titan with Gladiolus and you get to the top of the hill -- Gladiolus says something about not being sitting ducks, so I jumped over the hill, but Gladio didn't come with me and it was too high to get back over...had to reset and hadn't saved since the chapter started. Otherwise, nothing bad. Hoping it stays that way! Figuring I might spend this weekend trying to upgrade weapons. Apparently there are some decent places to farm XP, too -- I know someone that jumped from 50 to 99 pretty quickly, but I need to find out where he did it.
There are long stretches where you'll be tied to doing story content but you'll have a few chances to come back to the open world, and after you beat the game you can continue from where you left off in the open world quests as well.
Did anyone hit a spot around level 30 in chapter 5 where some of the enemies got way too strong? For example I'm trying to complete the hunter trap quest and there are a group of level 34 enemies that are destroying me. Meanwhile I was able to defeat a group of imperials that included a level 47 soldier. I'm confused.
I had the same glitch during Titan but I eventually randomly had Gladio somehow get near me and was able to move forward.
Is it possible to fuck up the order of things if I just keep doing sidequests instead of progressing the story? I don't want to leave open world till tomorrow night, but worried I might go somewhere too early and mess the story up
You won't be able to mess anything up for the main story, it's the opposite - there are side quests you won't be able to continue or complete because you haven't progressed far enough in the story to reach certain areas.
I think it will eventually prevent you from doing side quests without progressing the main story at least a bit more. At least that seemed to be what was happening for me. I usually did as much as I could and then progressed the main story once it seemed like I couldn't do more side quests. You can obviously continue grinding and fightin enemies though.
Ya I'm same. Ch 3 like level 30 and starting to push 20 hours lol Funny that I still don't really have that strong of an opinion of a game I've put almost 20 hours into but I'm obviously not disliking it. I think the main characters and world design are strengths so I'm enjoying just hanging out in the world even if I haven't done much of note as of yet.
Chapter 6, Level 35, 21 hours in. I was doing the "do all the side quests possible" but started to really lose sight of the story. Some of the quests are also really repetitive, which literally amounts to "drive from point A to point B then back to point A." Really enjoying everything overall, though. What's very weird to me is that back about 10 years ago I used to think what the future of FF would be, and this game is basically it right down to how I flesh out combat, the Wait mode, and magic. It's honestly scary because I almost feel like I predicted this game.
Lol crazy. That is interesting. I thought We would always have final fantasy X style games coming out.
The game really opens up at Chapter 3. I'm really loving this game more and more as I keep playing it. Reminds me of the way I felt with Xenoblade. At this point I would say that it's the best game of 2016. The sidequests are pretty diverse and add character to the world.
Haha for real. I just realized KH3 was announced in 2013.. it's gonna be 2017. I'm just stoked that now FF15 is out they can truly focus on that and the Remake of 7 I know we are gonna get a lot more info come the new year.
What Final Fantasy XV Japanese sales mean for the FF series and Square Enix Very interesting article. While FFXV killed it in sales worldwide, the sales in Japan were very poor. Makes me start to wonder if Square starts appealing more towards the WRPG fans after the success of XV.
