This Kujata summon fight is so maddening! Finally got him down to a sliver of health but his ultimate wipes my whole party almost every time
In Nibelheim. Feels so good when you complete all the tasks first try for a combat zone/encounter. Also already got all the crystal points for Odin. 60 hours in game is still great.
finished. lots to say. gonna sit on it for a bit before going in depth with all my thoughts but overall it’s a fantastic video game that I love a lot
Finally getting back to this and forgot I stopped halfway through chapter 9 where all the girls have to make it to the reactor. Damn they kick ass lol.
I posted my full thoughts in the main video game thread for those who didn’t see. Overall it’s a wonderful beautiful game with some frustrating design flaws in the final hours. Pacing issues were always going to be a thing in these games just because of how the original story plays out (I’ve never played it but I’ve seen enough footage and know the plot enough to get the idea) and how faithful Square Enix is staying to that plot despite some key differences. Overall I’m happy this ambitious project exists and I can’t wait for the third part. I plan to play remake and then rebirth back to back at some point later in the year.
I think I’m towards the end of ch 13 and yeah I’m glad I turned it to easy cuz some of these late game bosses are rough. Still having fun and I reworked all my materia and equipment on everyone. There’s some good spells and abilities I wasn’t utilizing
If I just got to the forgotten capital how much time do I have left? Game is starting to be kinda a slog
Is this a safe space to vent about how awful the wrangling chocobo minigame is? Especially in Cosmo Canyon, it's just absurdly slow and terrible, I don't know how anyone at SE thought that was fun. I want to love this game so much, but I'm on the verge of putting it down because it does so much to obfuscate the fun parts with filler and time-wasting minigames.
I actually already did start ignoring it in Gongaga, but the fights in the Gi Village were just about wiping me, so I feel like I need to get a few levels here before continuing. The pacing in this game feels so terrible to me. I don't mind the open world bits as much as I do the "hold up, stop your fun, do some minigames before you dare progress the story" that happens WAY too often. The combat, presentation, and main story are so good - I just do not understand why they needed to pad it out so much.
I loved playing this game and I loved the story but after sitting with it for a bit - I don’t think I’d ever replay it (or try to 100% it). Slog is the best way to put some of the side content
I love that after you beat the game you can replay it chapter by chapter that was my favorite part of halo games
