Almost done with chapter 8. The chocobo races were actually pretty fun

 

ok good I want imagining things. Although I SWEAR we saw it in one of cloud's fuzzy memories/flashforwards earlier in game. I like both your theories, they're both entirely possible. There's so much that could happen.....and remember he's the only one seeing the weird sky that originally, was only visible in the alternate timeline. So either they're starting to merge, they're ALREADY merged now or something, but it's obvious he's the only one seeing it. Also I think we'd be right to assume Aerith died in the other timeline because we saw Sephiroth approaching her in the church when she sent us off, but we never actually saw it happen soooo maybe she's still alive in that other timeline. However Marlene did say what would happen if we were to wake up and we did so....

Ok so my only negatives I forgot to mention earlier! NO GENESIS and the lack of deepground! Yeah we got Nero in Yuffie's trial, but that was barely a thing. And I really wish we got more Zack stuff. Fighting as him at the begining of the game has me excited but then everything up until the end of the game was either walking sim or cutscenes and I just wish we got MORE. Yeah I know we have CC but I personally love the dude and his goofiness. Playing as Jim in the final battle was such a step up from CC!

So this was a big game. Like I said, 122 hours and I didn't even finish everything. I wonder how big the third game is gonna be? Is it gonna be this big? It's obvious gonna be open world but are they gonna keep the areas from Rebirth too? Or just create the new areas and maybe the relevant places from Rebirth. I also wonder if we're picking up exactly where we left off like we did in Rebirth coming from Remake.....what's next? Snowboarding right, heading to the northern center....... I did see a snowboarding game that was closed at the Gold Saucer so obviously we're headed back there sometime. I really hope the third game involves Genesis, Deepground, and Rufus shenanigans. Cuz remember he's an interesting character. Original backer/financer of Avalanche, and I read an article that reminded me that he was the only other person outside our party that actually sees the whisperers in Remake so he must have something going on. And considering he was a sort of anti-hero in Advent Children I see him being more involved in the third game as he was in Rebirth. There's really not a lot of stuff left in the story so I'm really hoping they flesh more stuff out and add new stuff like what I mentioned earlier. And they gotta bring back Zach right? Right?!

yeah there’s still so much to do. This war with Wutai is gonna play a huge part in the third game it looks like. They built up Wutai as a powerhouse country that can fight Shinra rather than just a town to visit. The Rufus stuff is so interesting. Does he have Sephiroth cells then? So much to answer in the third game and I’m so sad it’s a ways away haha

 

Agreed on all those. I was just thinking last night.....2027 will be the 30th anniversary....SURELY they aren't gonna wait til then and release the third game as some kind of "finish a story that's been 30 years in the making" kinda thing....c'mon! At least release in 2026 maybe and then do a box set of all 3 games to coincide the anniversary.

Great news and I love that, though I wish we didn't have to rely on DLC for that in the first place

I know FFXVI's biggest thing is they didn't wanna be XV with how much they relied on DLC, and I think they've been successful with that for sure but that aspect feels like an exception

 

With that said I still can't get over so many people online who expected the DLC to retcon or explain the ending as if everything didn't point towards the DLC being after the ending being impossible

 

I prefer the open ending to FFXVI and am glad the DLC isn’t going to do anything to it

 

I too need to finish ff16 bc I thought it was downright incredible heh

 

Guess I'll be buying the DLC after I finish Rebirth.

 

Yeah I'm going to pick it up after the second part comes out. I figured I'd just wait until both were out to play any of it.

 

First DLC was short but it RULES

 

I love hearing that Soken took the opportunity of the DLC to just do what he wanted, it shows in DLC1

Finally Finished Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and now im depressed. what a good fucking game, if they could knock it out of the park with part 3, this might be my favourite video game trilogy ever

a plus is if they could release it in 3 years and land it around OG 7’s 30th anniversary

 

Yeah although I DON'T want to wait that long, I do see a 30th anniversary release being perfect for this to wrap up.
