Just did the Garuda battle and fuck that was insane

 

I definitely feel halfway decent when I remember the controls lmao I keep trying to dodge with x

 

I keep accidentally switching back to the items selector for the d-pad when trying to get Torgal to attack and I use up all of my potions

 

The view from Caer Norvent with the mother crystal in the background is amazing

 

I’ve already gotten a good feel for the combat, can’t wait to include more eikons and abilities, what a great battle system.

 

Finally starting, hell yeah Controller Layout B

 

actually it's awful and I switched back to A immediately in the first fight lol. I wish you could JUST swap circle and R1

I think I’m gonna have to move my PS5 to the LG OLed in my living room for this game. Usually play on a smaller monitor.

 

I just did exactly that. I needed to see this game on a 4K screen

I am having a real hard time reading stuff on the screen on my big tv :(

 

I'm not that fare into the game and stopped at Clive vs Garuda and the Odin/Bahamut scene but it's starting to look like it'll be a classic in FF. I'm massive fan of the setting. Caer Norvents backdrop was amazing with the mothercrystal. Strolling through the Greatwood with that soothing music. Petting Torgal! The game is a sturdy entry in the franchise and it's got me excited to play so much more at some point this weekend.

I wish the motion blur patch was out soon and sometimes i forget about combos in fighting, even forgetting to instruct Torgal, but im hoping that all comes with time. I want this game to last so long!

If the story holds up, it'll be a contender for my fave FF for sure. But that might just be recency bias.

just hit a huge turning point and not to give anything away but the spectacle of the boss fight I just did trumps anything in any game I’ve ever seen in terms of bombast

 

Just made it to the imperial capital and the music in the farm areas is so foreboding lol

 

I’m at the Clive vs Ifrit fight how the fuck am I supposed to do this lol

 

Nevermind I figured it out lol. My initial lock-on spot was insanely hard to hit.

 

That fight is so good but took me a couple tries

 

Got to the point where it opens up a bit. Gonna do some hunts and farm materials that I’m sure I won’t need

 

I keep think “ah this is where it opens up” and then it opens up even more later

 

I’m hoping to get a lot done soon and for it to open up. Feels quite linear at the moment. Without spoilers, does it open up later? I’m at the part where I’m on the way back to Rosaria with Jill
