6, 7, Tactics, 9, and 10 are all in the upper tier. 4 and 12 are right below it. 1, 3, 5, and 8 have their moments. 2 is the only one I would call actively bad, and I have never played the MMO's or 15.
I always seem to start this debate in this thread smh. I just never got the hype about 10.. I get it was the first on PS2, but I just didn't care for the characters and story. Can't say much about 6 as I've never played it.
Pretty stoked for 16 tho.. I plat'd 15 as well. That game was awesome, but I fell off right before the DLC for Ardyn.
I can't tell you how excited I am for Remake part 2. How many years you think it'll be until they announce and then release? Remember, if you have a PS5 and the physical or paid for the digital version of FF7R you'll get intergrade for free, but still have to pay for the Yuffie DLC and if you just have the free version of FF7R (PSPlus) you'll have to pay for the upgrades and the DLC.
As long as God of War 2 Ragnarok fills the space between that I'll be happy. How many of you have gotten lucky like me and have a PS5? Random question.
Great characters, great villian, GREAT music, magic system is the best FF has ever done. The game is the perfect JRPG, it will never be outdone.
Best villain, incredible music, no real main character but a very strong cast, a huge twist, and some of the most poignant scenes in the entire franchise. Maybe the only 16 bit game to ever actually make me feel things. Also Ultros.
5 just feels bland when sandwiched between 4 and 6. 4 was such a leap in storytelling compared to the NES games, and 6 was an even further leap than that. 5 did have the job system which a lot of people like, but I always felt that that was mastered in Tactics.
Square is too busy bringing back the entire SaGa series to port the games that most fans want ported, like the FF Tactics games, FF6, and the Chrono games.
