Ugh I really hate it but like I said i'm reserving this game for the weekends, which technically starts tomorrow night for me. Gonna make a lot of progress this weekend and looking forward to it. @slowheart has me stoked to see how it ends
characters and gear level up in this game while you're not using them and it's not jarring, he's clearly already powerful anyway and it would have added some more flavor to the end game just when it's really starting to feel tedious the Jenova lab felt like it would never end. I think they just ran out of time to implement him. I just got to chapter 18, going to save the end for tomorrow but I really hope it wows me because I'm feeling pretty crushed by how much I'm not enjoying it.
Just beat it. I thought the last chapter was actually really fun but holy shit I do not like what they're doing to the story. At all. also hearing cloud say "Bring it, bitch" was painful
I am really loving this... But I feel like an idiot because I had no idea that this was not the full story... What is the plan then? I need to make sure to not rush through the game.
Last night I got to the boss fight in the lab under Wedge's house, tried it once and died, and turned it off for the night. I'll beat it later tonight.
Does the physical box mention that this isn't the full game? I feel like Square has been deliberately misleading people, I had a lot of friends who didn't know it was episodic (I also think I asked this before, having crazy deja vu right now)
It seems odd to me that the game was in the works as long as It was an it ended up being episodic. And I have a hard time seeing how it will work in terms of levels, items, party members etc.
They had to start almost over halfway through when they switched the engine. The game really wasn't in development for that long of a time because of this, they moved it to their internal studio in 2017 after it was outsourced for a bit. So realistically, it was a 3 year development
The way I'm looking at it now is it was either episodic or we'd never get the game. I know which I'd prefer.
It would be so incredibly rushed and not fleshed out if it was just one game too. I’ll take multiple installments.
Are we supposed to be able to reach level 50 on the first playthrough? As I'm at the end of chapter 16 and have done all the side quests and my highest leveled character is 35. I don't really care as I'm actually finding the game easy just thought I might be missing something as there's a trophy for it.
Just got to ch.5 Loving everything, and I’m curious how many of you guys used the access materia? Best way to stagger enemies is using the battle intel.
