One thing that should be abundantly clear now in the wake of FFVIIR, at least, is that FFXIII wasn't just subpar solely because it was a "hallway simulator".
Hmmm idk what the best song is, Cosmo I like more than OWA cuz of personal preference but I don't think it's objectively better. Main Theme from FFVII and Aerith's Theme I think are better.
I remember when it was exactly, chapter 9(maybe 8) but there was a song that really reminded me of Just Can't Get Enough and it was driving me crazy lol
I love the FF6 overworld music alot a lot a lot. The first world of course. World of ruin ain't too shabby either though.
Does anyone have any tips for making combat tolerable? I have to be doing something wrong. I'm just getting blasted around the entire time while struggling to keep my characters alive. I can barely even get an attack off. I'm in he Train Graveyard and even regular scrub enemies are busting me up. People shit on FFXV but that felt considerably better to play than this.
But thing I can suggest, but you probably know all this already, is to use Assess on every enemy, constantly monitor your allies’ ATB gauge and pause the game to give them commands whenever possible, and try to learn which enemy attack patterns are more susceptible to all-out assaults vs. which enemy attack patterns require a more cautious approach.
Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler. Don't read unless you like spoilers or vague things WE GOT NOMURA'D YALL!!!!
Yeah, I've been doing all of that. My problem is my attacks are CONSTANTLY interrupted. Like it's shocking when I'm not being knocked down, blown into the air, silenced, frogged, pinned, or dead. and I'm probably only halfway through the game at this point. I tried easy mode out and it was a lot more enjoyable in that I could actually play the game, but you can kill a boss in a minute which is a bummer.
I haven’t gotten to the Train Graveyard yet so I don’t have any tips for that part specifically sadly.
I don’t HATE FFXIII but I don’t really like it either. The good and bad kind of neutralize each other to the point that I just nothing it.
Do the bosses later on in the game get much harder? I just beat Eligor in Chapter 11 and I guess my one real criticism so far is that beat the bosses easily on my first attempt feels really anticlimactic.
Even though I’ve beaten all the bosses on my first attempt, I’ve felt that they were adequately challenging in the moment, or at least required a good degree of effort. Except the fight with Reno in the church, that was kind of a joke if you just spam Punisher mode counters the whole time lol
I just cannot get the hang of blocking and dodging. Like, I can use the buttons but I'll be damned if I can successfully block or parry something.
I guess I just find it more satisfying to beat a bosses after dying a few times, probably doesn't help that I was playing Nioh 2 right before this lol. I wish hard mode was available from the start and not unlocked after you beat the game.
