I'm still not entirely sure I ever understood the point of the Leguna sequences.

 

You're definitely not wrong about that. Only good thing is there's very little post-Ragnarok

 

Spoiler what you do understand and I'll try to fill in what you don't

 

If I'm being fair, I don't really remember it at all. I just remember as a kid that I had no clue why it was a thing.

 

The Laguna sequences kill all the momentum. They happen right in the middle of the action; at the end of Disc 1 when we are not sure if Squall is alive or dead, we cut to Laguna. When we are about to explore the legendary city of Esthar, we cut to Laguna. It is an awful decision.

 

I liked the Laguna sequences for the story fill-in but the timing of them was absolutely awful, you're right. Specifically the Esthar moment.

Driving right now but will give more complete thoughts.

 

Yeah I also didn't care for the timing of the Laguna sequences. I did enjoy the sequences themself though.

 

The short answer I've gotten in my playing is Ellone used her time manipulation and used Squall and his party to visit the past as Laguna (Squall's father) and reach the point where they accessed the Lunatic Pandora, both to show it to Squall and to see it for herself, also hoping Squall's actions as Laguna in the Lunatic Pandora could open it up for Squall in the present.

The game obviously used it further than that, to show that Laguna is Squall's father and Julia is Rinoa's mother, and where Ellone came from, but the reasoning I've come to as far as the actual plot goes is above.

 

Wow I completely missed the connections with Squall's/Rinoa's parentage. Doh.

 

That's pretty much the only thing I took from it

I'm going media blackout on XV now. If they do a trailer at E3 I'll obviously see it but other than that I'm out.

 

Stoked for the FF7 re-release. Of course. Just started playing FF XIV a few weeks ago. Really fun.

Awesome! Will do! Im at lvl 35 right now. Just went to Black Mage. Pretty stoked about that. Haha.

 

Black Mage gets so fun at later levels haha, it's what I started out with. I'm a Summoner main now because it's my favorite but Black Mage is a blast.

 

SO PUMPED RIGHT NOW.

 

HEY. SPOILERS. I haven't even finished chapter 5 of bravely default because it's too difficult. (I want to get the vampire asterisk and have no idea how).

 

I wasn't even thinking when I posted it. Haha.

It definitely took a ton of patience to get the asterisk but was 100% worth it for the end game.

 

Yeah I haven't played in months because of that asterisk. I know it's important which is why I'm not finishing chapter 5 until I get it.

 

Yoooooo I'm so jealous! I'm hoping it's waiting for me when I get home from work.
