I still like Keeper more than almost every Heavensward 60 dungeon though Heavensward is much better plot wise but the dungeons are pretty iffy IMO
Mainly talking from a tank standpoint btw cuz good tanks can make SB/SHB dungeons quick as hell with larger pulls and both expansions have the dungeons broken out in way to allow that very effectively Versus Heavensward and ARR where there's more stop-and-go
Yeah I’ve been trying to make bugger pulls happen when I do the leveling roulette, but those still max out at like 4-5 enemies
Leveling roulette is pretty tough to do bigger pulls in just cuz of the lack of abilities, except for Dzemael Darkhold where you can pull almost the whole first 3rd of the dungeon at once
ARR was weird cuz they made half the dungeons really flexible and then people started doing massive pulls in Brayflox's Longstop Hard to farm tomes and SE didn't want any of that, so they restricted their dungeons further like Tam Tara Hard and Keeper Of The Lake and all the Heavensward dungeons, till they realized they could let people do small pulls while still having the option for long pulls that don't rush dungeons, and did Stormblood with different types of blocks.
I’m honestly shocked Nomura had nothing to do with this game, shadowy hooded organization kidnapping people and using shadow portals? the KH vibes are strong
Yesterday was ROUGH on FFXIV Had a healer that ran straight into mechanics on my expert roulette, healers that ignored mechanics on trial roulette, and 2 tanks that trolled and redirected attacks into the party in Eden 1 Tip for anyone who's new on endgame content or even Stormblood forward: it's perfectly okay to be like "hey I've never done this before" or "I've done this but don't have a handle on the mechanics yet", no one will be upset about it
I love to be helpful when someone hasn't done anything or isn't as solid on it but when they try to rush the dungeon and kill me and others repeatedly and don't accept help it's very frustrating I won't call it out because I'm timid but it's an internal frustration
Yeah I probably drive people nuts at first ranking because I prefer to take things slow especially when it’s dungeons I’ve never done I always try to make sure to say I’m new just so it’s known
I think people's obsession with HAVING to do every run fast is weird Would much rather go slow and clear methodically than go fast and have repeated wipes cuz it's somewhere new
Great Gubal Library is great, love the normal mode too There's a Shadowbringers endgame dungeon that reminds me a lot of the Library
it's extremely kingdom hearts to the point where if they did a KH raid series and revealed that the ascians were some alternate universe form of the organization i wouldn't bat an eye
Recently in Heavensward I've run Sohm Al, Sohr Khai, and Dusk Vigil, all of which I hate Gubal and Mocciane's (sic) I like amongst others
anyway i'm a little into stormblood right now (on a ship), like it so far. major players of the plot are a great crew - alisaie's interactions with alphinaud are wonderful, lyse is a great character (and i like her more than i ever liked her in ARR/as yda), plus i'm never going to complain about raubahn coming back into the spotlight. as always, excited to continue to play more and inch closer to finally catching up.

I always try to look up overviews if dungeons/trials to make sure I’m aware of any weird mechanics, and that usually does me fine. I don’t wanna bone anyone over since I’m the tank haha
Something I learned to do today: you can set your controller to where when you press L3 it automatically activates Sprint for you so you don't have to have it on your hotbars. 1. On the menu, go to System > System Configuration 2. Under "Controller Settings", locate "Button Configuration" and press "Begin" 3. Change the "L3" option to "Execute Macro #98 (Exclusive)" and apply 4. Close out and go back to System > User Macros 5. Open up user macro 98 and enter this macro: Name: Sprint You can now use L3 to sprint at any time this is available. This macro is multipurpose and you can also use L3 to cancel any other ongoing macros (if you have them set up). Just a quality of life thing I had never considered that I figured I'd share in case anyone's interested! I'm working on some QOL stuff today so if I find anything else I'll report back.
The whole time I’ve played I’ve wanted to map it to a thumbstick but have been too lazy to see if it was possible haha
