I'm justifying not plowing through the end game stuff right now because I want to do it with you and Joe and everybody
And if you DO want to buy housing that pretty much starts at 9 million gil and being lucky enough to be the first to get the plot But also housing is damn near impossible to get on Cactuar (or any server but especially Cactuar) so yeah It's genuinely an easier process to buy a house IRL
today is the day i finally reach heavensward i think maybe i'm getting pretty into the plot of the post-base ARR stuff but oh boy is the quest design so fucking boring
all of this makes me feel like im wasting time in ARR and should buy a story skip but at the same time im already level 30 and should prob see it through. but i dont really feel like im achieving anything by playing ARR the more i learn about it. but im having fun.
you're gonna be waiting months for me haha i will realistically get to play this a couple nights a week at a few hours each
i don't feel like i necessarily wasted my time, looking at it as a jrpg, there's always a ton of bloat (hell, my one of my favorite series is even infamous for extremely slow 40h+ starts). the plot and writing has been getting significantly better but i did enjoy getting to know the world and characters and lore at my own pace during ARR as opposed to just watching a summary video and skipping it or something. i also had fun and have a fair amount of tolerance for mmo quest design. it's not for everyone but i didn't entirely mind it.
i am with you with all of this. i just know i have such little time to play it that i may have been better off cutting right to the more pressing content. but at the same time i dont have the cash for the expansions rn anyways
The best thing about shadowbringers is it feels like something huge is happening with nearly every cutscene, sure there are a handful of times youre just stringing along to the next big event but they really seem few and far between. I cant speak to ARR and HS because i skipped through the cutscenes to catch up to Dustin at level 60 at the time. Before this expansion came out I read a bunch and watched videos of the ARR and HS storylines.
Went with Jenova. Don’t think Cactuar opened up once over the last 24 hours and I was checking at some fucking ridiculous times
Jenova's actually where I started my character, I like it. Only moved to Cactuar because of some friends moving before visiting was a thing.
