They're pretty good fetch quests

They get worse though at times (see: Heavensward)

 

Dustin it is very sad on my part that you knew my job but i didn't lol

 

Hahaha you haven't gotten to the job part yet so it's understandable

Once you get Thaumaturge to level 30, go to Gridania and unlock "Archer", and get that to level 15 (it's easy) and you'll unlock your first job

 

Another cool thing about the game, you get an exp boost to other classes based on how highly leveled your main class is

So like if your Thaumaturge is level 30, you'll get an exp boost for all other combat classes until level 30

 

Guys please help me find a way to retrieve my product key! I bought it on SE site, it's for Mac.

 

I seriously can’t wait to play with you all. Not sure what class I’m going to pick

 

fuck it i'll probably start a new character tomorrow (would say tonight but there is no way the game will finish downloading at PSN speeds tonight)

 

I e-mailed SE, i'm sure they will point me in the right direction

 

They surprisingly helped me a lot when I had issues

 

What kind of stuff do you want to do? Close combat/long ranged? Tank/heal/dps? The good thing is if you don't like the class you chose, once you get to level 10 you can pick up any class.

 

Im at level 46 so real close to the fun stuff.

Also since y'all are sub-50 keep in mind that there are 6 different classes/jobs that can get unlocked later in the game if you wanna use those

For ARR:
Rogue/Ninja (DPS) - Once you get to level 10 I think you can unlock it in Limsa Lominsa

For Heavensward:
Astrologian (Heal) - After level 50
Machinist (DPS) - After level 50
Dark Knight (Tank) - After level 50

For Stormblood:
Red Mage (DPS) - After level 60
Samurai (DPS) - After level 60

 

I'm thinking close combat DPS.

 

are dragoons good? i always love a good dragoon in a final fantasy game.

always like healing in MMOs too but i've occasionally gotten frustrated leveling them in other MMOs.

 

Maybe I'll run with Dragoon then until I can change to Samurai

 

You’ll also deal with immensely longer queues as a close combat DPS but when I come along I’ll heal or tank to make the queues faster

 

I still have time to decide, I may end up going the tank route.

 

i'm quite enjoying my "cast magic and run away the second the cast timer runs out so you don't get fucking stomped" technique

 

Yeah I definitely switched from Black Mage to Summoner for the mobility in Heavensward hahaha
