Can't really think of any other way. It's like the 6th tiebreaker. Senegal shouldn't have let themselves get to that position.

 

I mean not sure what else you can do. My suggestion for tiebreaker would be result against the top team of the group...in which Japan still makes it

 

Yeah, unless you're going to add in an extra playoff game, it always ends up having to be something kind of arbitrary. Senegal had the same game time as everyone else. Want to avoid losing on fair play? Win your games.

 

I saw a decent one where you remove results against the team that came bottom. But yeah still Japan going through.

 

Myself, @primavera, and @bobby_runs are the only one with the full pot still in play (Japan, Sweden, and Russia). Me and Bobby are also the only two with two teams in the knockout (England/Japan and Switzerland/Russia). @Nick, @AFoolsGlory, @orangehorizon, and @web250 are eliminated.

If England comes first today, my two teams face off in the R16; England in second puts my only chance of my two teams going head to head is the final. Bobby has a chance for his two teams to meet in the semis.

My hope for England-Belgium is shenanigans. I want purposeful own goals. Straight reds. Fight for the second place slot. Cause a scene. Be so bad FIFA has to change rules for the future.



But we all know 0-0 is coming in hot.

 

Don’t let me down with those cards today, ref.

 

It puts them in the easier side of the draw but I hope Belgium smash them. Not like an easy 3-0. I'm talking so bad their grandchildren will hate England. Causing them to crash out next round to the mighty Blue Samurai who will go on to win the World Cup.

I hope Rose has a solid game and gets into the regular starting lineup. I think he’d be a better fit for this team than Young.

 

i remember a time thinking ben davies was a better option than danny rose. three years can change a lot.

 

Ben Davies is pretty good. But a fully fit Rose is awesome. People have forgotten that because of the times he’s missed over the last year.
